SIERRA AZUL PAINTING

Good news! Scott and one of his painters showed up today and painted/repainted all my rafter tops and beam ends. They did a nice job of cleaning them up and sanding them down before priming and painting. Just got down from the roof and they all look great. I am very happy and ready for winter. Thank you Scott!

Thought it went well, but a year later I noticed the paint peeling badly from the top of the exposed rafter tails that wrap around my gutters. Scott said he would make it right and live up to his promise to warrantee his work for some reasonable period of time. I made it clear to Scott that the rafter tails were the #1 thing I was concerned about on the house. I've met and phoned Scott three times in the last year. Most recently two months ago when he enthusiastically said that he would repaint the rafter tails within one or two months. It's been over two months. I can no longer recommend Sierra Azul Painting. Don't get me wrong, I believe I got a pretty good paint job on the rest of the house, but Scott has disappointed me in following through on his promise to get the rafter tails right. Sorry Scott, I've been nice and patient, but I have not seen or heard from you as you promised. Looks like I'll have to find another painter to address the peeling rafter tails and get the job finished right.

It went well; very good insight at color matching

I am very exacting in the maintenance of my home. This makes this rating of Sierra Azul even more extraordinary. Scott is a perfectionist after my own heart. I hired Scott to paint my two story craftsman home in Seabright. The sun and rain had worn through the prior paint job. My once white eaves were full of mildew. Since I wanted to be on-site for the work, Scott and I locked in on a week that worked for both of us. Scott and Mike showed up on time and his team went to work carefully power washing, sanding, caulking and prepping my house for painting. As we all know, more than half of a good paint job is prep and Scott did not scrimp there. With copper gutter I was very concerned with ladder damage. Scott took care to rig up braces for all the ladders so that I didn’t have one bent gutter. The house has a lot of intricate corners. Scott’s team did a great job of getting the paint in the cracks, on the edges, but not on the gutters, windows or sidewalks. They put two coats on the sun-exposed south and west sides to stand up to the weather. Our wood front porch had been bubbling up and peeling in some areas so it got some serious prep sanding before application of a new coat of deck paint. Scott’s team is polite and courteous. They did not refuse a single of my requests for special attention to an eave or rough spot on the house. It is a rarity for me when I say that I am completely happy with the job Sierra Azul did on my house. Scott has my name as a reference. Mention the “whale” house and he’ll know which one you’re talking about. Oh, and did I mention they vacuumed the roof and sidewalk when they were done not leaving behind a single paint chip. Its obvious why Scott gets all the stellar reviews, he loves his work and providing customers like me a wow paint job. Excuse me now, I’m going out to my patio to sit and enjoy the view of my beautiful house. Thanks Scott!

Scott (the contractor) was very responsive, He came for a look after I called, evaluated the job and forwarded a quote within a week.  The job was well done, cleanup daily, caulking where needed, matched the house color extremely well. This is an over 3000 sq. feet home with three colors, all was done promptly and completed in a week. I have requested that they return next year and do the remaining two sides of the house.
I will have no problem recommending their services to others.  All in all a real professional.

We had bids from several companies and Sierra Azul-Scott LaBonte gave us a comparable quote.  One of the reason we decided to work with him, is that he called and texted when he said he would.  We have had problems with many contractors saying they would call or get back to us, and have had poor results with followups.  From the very beginning Scott and his team came when they said they would and Scott supervised all the work from beginning to end.  He was extremely helpful and patient as we worked together to figure out a color scheme, he mixed up at least 5 different samples and painted chunks of our exterior (both stucco and wood) to let us see how they would look on the various house finishes and in different lights.  Scott has a great ability to work with colors and he understands the importance of hues and saturation (something, many folks can't always distinguish).  We were supremely happy with the completed job, and he is coming back to do another project.  He finished his work when he said he would, he took all his equipment when he said he would and he was great with the clean up and taking care of the surrounding landscaping that was in the way. To start Scott was the only one of 3 painters I contacted through AL.  He looked at the job that needed to be done and offered some good advise (which we took) and saved us money in the process.  After reviewing the bids, he was very competitive and found a way to fit us in his schedule (sooner rather than later).  During the job the crew knew we were replacing the carpet so they pulled the carpet away to ensure the baseboards were fully painted.  Scott and his team were quick, professional and did a great job.  Touchups were made (not by any mistake of theirs) with no issues.  We will definitely include Scott in future bids.

He's a very good painter and his prices are pretty reasonable. I had other quotes and some people were asking for $10,000. So his prices were pretty good at $7,100. He helped me figure out the colors and to come up with a nice color. He worked with the neighborhood, because I wanted them to like it. He helped me get the house sold. He's very professional.

Listened well and responded to special requests. Was thorough; did high quality work. Responded to requests for touch up.

Sierra Azul Painting was great to work with from the beginning to the end. We replaced our siding and windows. We were closing in on the rainy season for central California coast and we needed to caulk and paint our house exterior before it was damaged by storm and rain. Scott was quick to call me back, quick to provide an estimate, and quick to schedule the work. The work itself was well done and looks good! We were very pleased with his attention to detail. What we got was a paint job that was clearly superior to the one we'd gotten 5 years before. I'm sure it will hold up much better than the last one.

After calling Sears Home Services for a quote. Somebody from Sears came out to my Dads House and gave Dad a $8000 Dollar quote to paint His House! After joining Angie's list to help him find a Honest and reasonable Painter, I found Scott of Sierra Azul Painting! Scott came to Dads home and gave a very reasonable quote of $2200 Dollars. That's quite a difference in the quote amounts, Obviously we chose Scott's firm from the recommendations of previous customers, and we where sure glad we did they did excellent work.
Scott's team of Painters came to my Dad's House and pressure washed the exterior of the house and also fixed the many cracks in the stucco. Over the three days they spent painting and making my Dads house look Beautiful again! We liked the professionalism of Scott and His Crew of Painters, and wholeheartedly Recommend them for your painting needs.

You know you have a great painter when your neighbors come over to tell you how impressed they were! We hired Scott to paint the exterior of our house along with a shed in the side yard. We were away when he was doing the work, so we had to trust that the prep and painting work would be done well. Scott had amazing reviews on both Yelp and Angies List, so we weren't worried. What surprised us, though, is that when we returned home, our neighbors came to tell us how impressed they were with Scott's work. They watched Scott and his crew spend a lot of time making sure the wood was all prepped properly before the painting begun. Needless to say, the house looks AWESOME! Great service. Our last paint job was over 20 years ago, so there was some wear and tear to fix up. Scott was a professional from beginning to end. Gave us a great price, great detail to quality, and clean up. Painted large swaths of color options before we chose our new color so we could see the actual colors we would end up with. Would highly recommend Scott and crew for any painting job.

It went very well, Scott, the owner provided a written estimate, stayed in touch to keep me updated on start date and showed up at the date and time promised. Scott provided his thoughts and time to help choose the paint color. He took several days to carefully prep the house, then sprayed the first coat and rolled the second coat. He painted the trim and the new wrought iron railing. Work was done quickly and the area was left clean after job completion. He followed up with a thank you phone call.

Scott communicated with us before, during the job and afterwards (in person, and by phone in the evenings) to ensure he understood our requirements and gained our satisfaction. He and his assistant painter arrived on-time, everyday...power washing the entire exterior, preparing the surfaces (sanding, caulking, masking, and protecting shrubs and surroundings), painted two coats, completed the job as advertised, and totally cleaned up the site. They worked around a yellow jacket hive, and any other challenges they met without complaint.
Scott mixed a custom color in several batches to paint a deep dark plum color for the front door and shutters that has created a new richness, and my wife and I love the results. It is inviting and increased the visible value to our home.
Scott is a true artist and paint professional as we collaborated with him to create the color combination that fit with the housing covenants, our tastes and desires, added renewed vibrancy of color at our end of the cul-de-sac, and caused neighbors from our development and beyond to ask for business cards and create excitement.

The job Sierra Azul did was excellent at every stage of the process. We are grateful for the good advice on color. and the result is even more attractive than we'd hoped for.

Initially, we met with Scott, and we told him what we planned to have done. He presented us with an estimate. We got two other estimates and his was in the middle. Once the painting began, Scott was here to supervise. The men worked every day for the full day until the work was completed. They did a good job of cleaning up at the end of each day and at the end of the project.
