This guy is a THIEF! He’s a wanna be contractor who doesn’t know his a** from a hole in the ground. He STOLE $6400 from us and won’t give us our money back after we fired him. NOTHING he did was correct he used s*** frame equipment. All the measurements were wrong nothing was level. He poured stone without having any framework done and totally destroyed our yard on top of it. DO NOT USE THIS GUY. He’s a scumbag!

I would absolutely recommend Ricci, although they were a little more expensive than some of the competitors prices in my area they were willing to work with me and discuss in detail what I wanted and help me make decisions that were for the better. Ultimately the finished product was flawless. A fine job.

It was several years ago and seemed fine (although the jets in the tub stopped working soon after). Recently we discovered mold in our adjacent master bath. When we took down the walls we discovered that the remodeled bath had been leaking into the wall space for years. Framing was rotten and black mold was everywhere. The contractors we hired to fix the situation all knew who Ricci was and said the shoddy practices used in our bathroom were common to several of his victims. The framing was sub-par, the plumbing was terrible - and will have to be torn out and rerouted because it blocks the tub's access port. (the tub failed, btw, because of leaking water). Stay away from these people at all costs. I would sue them but too much time has passed.

Avoid Ricci Construction at all costs. There is no planning, no supervision of subcontractors, no responsibility for errors and no response to damage caused by Ricci's crews or subcontractors. They have turned the kitchen remodel of my old stone and frame house into a nightmare. Ricci's foreman is a disaster: walls framed unevenly, insulation and sheetrock put up without inspection of roughs (so I now have code violations and cannot get my CO), sheetrock done in the dark (LITERALLY! no lighting left on the job site!!), gaps left at the bottoms of sheetrock so that mice are now behind the new cabinets, incorrect ordering of tile which held up construction three weeks, taping of a right angle corner that is so bad that a corner sink and cabinet did not fit and needed a 3/4" caulk bead to fill the gap. Standard operating procedure is to do a terrible job, then rip it out, with collateral damage to other work, and patch the problem badly. They couldn't even center the stove and range hood between two windows. The crews are used to new construction and are not housetrained for remodeling, they made the most unbelievable messes everywhere in my house and did not clean up- the drywall taper managed to get joint compound onto every floor in the house, the trim crew dropped tools and made dents in the new wood floor and scratched the front of the new stove, as well as denting the new cabinets. John Ricci will tell you he's going to make you happy, then you will never see him again - unless he wants a check. He lies- I asked him not to hire a certain wood floor company because I had had quality problems with them in the past, he agreed then hired them anyway and presented it as a fait accompli; of course I had the same quality issues the second time.
