D*** liars and super poor management. They called me and stated they're only making an energy assessments for MA rebate program. I asked right way "Do you sell/install solar panels", they said "No, we just make energy assessment". Then 2 no shows in a row, I decided to go with 3rd one. Guy who came was OK, when I asked he said right away: "Yes, of course, we do install solar panels. We're the 3rd largest compony in US". We talked a bit and I said I'm not interested. They call me in about a week to... set an appointment for their assessor visit, sounded very much surprised I've already had one. Then they called again - same thing. Today, month later I got a call starting all from the beginning with the same statement "We do NOT sell or install solar panels". Never ever came across anything like that. Beware!

Solar Energy Exchange team was a pleasure to work with.   I have been interested in going solar for several years so I am fairly knowledgeable about the components and cost for a home owner.  They installed a reasonably priced system on my home in May 2014 and I could not be more pleased with the experience I had with them. They worked well with the city of Cerritos on obtaining the required permits and inspections which can be demanding.  The system is working flawlessly.  My wife has an app on her iPhone and iPad and checks the systems energy production on a daily basis as I do on the web.  The system uses American made panels from Solar World in Oregon and state of the art micro-inverters from enphase.  Their instillation looks great.  Based on the price I paid along with the federal tax credits, the system will easily pay for its self. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to go solar.  Thank you Issac, Manny, Tina, and the crew.  Great Job!

Very professional installation that took about 3 days.  There was quite a delay from the time the installation was completed to when the system was turned on, but that wasn't the installer's fault.  Initially, I was having a problem with the inverter turing off regularly after the system was turned on.  It turns out it was the utility company's issue, which was resolved.  Solar Energy Exchange helped diagnose the problem and determined that it wasn't their equipment that was the cause.  The system is running smoothly now and I have had no issues.  Highly recommended.

We were paired with Solar Energy Exchange through the GRID Program for our discounted solar panels, so they were paid directly by GRID and not by us. That said, I was sorely disappointed in their office staff's behavior and ability to return calls with the correct information. They routinely called my husband instead of me (I work from home, thus have phone access during the day where my husband does not) and told both of us conflicting information. We were lied to as to when our permits were approved and our install was scheduled around other jobs which meant they'd come work on our house one day, skip the next, then come back with a partial crew. The installers were the ONLY positives of the job - they were respectful, did an amazing job, and cleaned up after themselves.
Response from Solar Energy Exchange Inc.

"We would like to apologize for any inconvenience that you experienced during the installation of your solar project. We recognize that there are many different factors that go into an individuals project and we have adjusted the staffing the we utilize for the different phases in an effort to provide the most accurate, up to date information to our customers. We hope that you are enjoying the system we installed for you."

Over the past couple of years, I had interviewed two other Solar panel providers.  I am a scientist, and had many questions for the salespersons (such as panel efficiency, degradation rates, types of warranties, ...).  Not only they did not know the answers, they just made up numbers in order to close the deal!!
The experience with Solar Energy Exchange was very different and refreshing.  Isaac Hamdoot was the main person we interfaced with.  He answered most of my questions accurately on the spot, and a few answers he did not know, he called me back the next day with accurate answers.  We decided to go with Sunpower panels because they have the highest efficiency (20%) and good degradation characteristics over the next 20 years.  Sunpower also give real time access to the power generated by the solar from any computer, iPhone, iPad, etc.  Isaac then designed a system for us that produces maximum allowable power based on our usage, then explained the complex permit and installation process.
All I had to do was to give Isaac our recent power bills and sign the lease papers electronically and he took care of everything else.  About a month after signing the lease, the panels were installed and activated.  Unlike other Solar companies, Isaac was present during the entire process - including installation.  So there were no surprises.
Based on the panel performance over the past several weeks, we expect to hit break even in 4-5 years, just as advertised.
If you are looking to install Solar Panels, make sure you interview this company - we are 100% satisfied.
