Sam's Garage Doors

Company was dispatched under a home warranty service that replaces or repairs defective appliances. Instead of processing the claim properly to the warranty service, which would have been at no cost to me, the company charged me a deposit to replace the motor and closed the claim with the warranty service as resolved. The company effectively skirted the warranty service policy to my disadvantage. I will never hire them again.

Technician diagnosed problem as broken spring, replaced with a new one, tested door and checked for other problems (found none). Technician arrived on schedule and job was completed in 45 minutes. I was pleased with work, professionalism, and price.

Diego was great. He was on time professional and honest. He made the repair quickly and have a no-pressure honest assessment that we need a door. He then explained what would be done. When and if my landlord approves I will use Sam's Garage Doors to have a new door installed.

I chose Sam's Garage Doors when my garage door stopped working based on their excellent rating and the fact that they specialize in repairing doors (not forcing you to buy a new one). Ultimately, I'm happy with my decision to use them. The first service date we settled on was a little further out than I wanted (over a week), but that was due to my schedule. Then their office called and said they couldn't come that day and we had to reschedule for a week later (again, my schedule). I was a bit disappointed that the original date was not met, but recognize that sometimes things come up. Mike, the technician, called me today while he was en route to let me know his arrival time. He was very knowledgeable and kept me informed while he was evaluating and doing the repair, which I appreciated. Initially, he thought it was just the spring that needed replacing, but it turned out that I needed new cables and a capacitor as well. He also lubricated the system so that now it is running more smoothly and quietly than it has in a long time. I can't speak for the overall price of the repair, but I'm happy that I was able to repair my garage door rather than having to replace it. Mike was efficient and courteous and I wouldn't hesitate to use this company again.

We called Sam's (we've used them before very successfully). They came early in the day even though their schedule was full when I called--they told me they could see me on Tuesday. When I explained the importance of the project, they sent a supervisor on Monday who diagnosed the problem as a dying garage door opener. The technician told me the one I had was too small for the door and recommended a 3/4 horse opener because of the size and weight of the door. He told me they could put in another one like the one I had for less money, but that the smaller 1/2 horse unit would fail in a few years. I opted to do the job right, and they put in the right unit. Communication was excellent from them--they have gone more than the extra mile. I highly recommend them.

Sam’s was able to offer a new tilt-up garage door to replace our current tilt-up garage door. Most companies only offer roll-up garage doors. It was a challenge fitting their tilt-up exactly how we wanted – but Sam’s worked creatively and came up with a final elegant solution. We selected the “carriage” style pattern without the black hinge detail. (Which you can add using a magnetic trim set.) We visited their local office – and they were very receptive to satisfying our requests. The installers and office staff were very congenial.

I made an appointment on Saturday 11/17 and Mark showed up on Monday 11/19. He called me about 20 min beforehand. He was thorough in explaining to me the issues and my options: 1) repair or 2) replace the door. Since I have a HOA and it was more trouble than it was worth, I opted for the repair services. On the spot, 1) Mark installed a safety coil/cable, 2) installed a reinforcement because my door was bowing/caving in and cracking; and 3) installed a new keypad because the old one stopped working. I appreciate that Mark was highly responsive, he had all the tools and parts he needed with him and that everything was done on the spot and the price was reasonable. From start to finish, the total time was about 1-1.5 hours. The actual repair was done in under an hour.

Good and efficient

I called and spoke with Sam who got me in contact with his partner Chad. Chad was in my area and was able to come over within 15 minutes. He was very punctual and very pleasant. He completed an inspection of the garage door and garage door opener. He was very thorough and found the problem was one piece of the garage door opener that had worn out. He took it off And showed it to me so I can see what the problem was. I immediately knew that I had somebody that was a very honest person. He had the peace in his van which was well equipped. The price he quoted was very reasonable, And he promptly replace the part check. He tested the garage door opener several times so I felt comfortable that the problem was fixed. I would highly recommend this company for any type of garage door and/or garage opener problems.

I WAS IMPRESSED! AND I DON'T IMPRESS EASILY. THE REPAIRMAN WAS RIGHT ON TIMER, EXPLAINED CWHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND WHAT IT WOULD TAKE TO REPAIR. TRIED TO SAVE ME SOME MONEY, REPLACED PARTS RATHER THAN TELL ME TO GET A NEW DOOR. PRICE WAS REASONABLE. I WOULD RECOMMEND HIS SERVICES TO ANYONE!

Every thing went fine and was done in a very short time. I would have liked to have had a the second remote programmed. I am not technically800 inclined so the help would have been appreciated.

Diego was punctual, knowledgeable, and very professional. He converted a single (broken) coil garage door mechanism to a more efficient dual-coil configuration at my request, and completed the entire job in under 30 minutes, at a very reasonable price. Diego is obviously very experienced, perfectly balancing the garage door on the first try. The garage door operation was smooth and noticeably quieter afterward. Very pleased. Highly recommended.

Good product and service;

Went pretty well....installed smoked cigarettes and made a mistake on the trim which the company soon corrected.

Great, thought we needed a new motor, but found out the previous springs where not strong enough for the door. Changed out springs, end bearings and screw latch.

Sams Garage Door is the answer to a prayer. They are responsive, ethical, and highly qualified. In this case, I hired them because your garage door would not fully close. The limit switch was broken. They diagnosed and replaced it, lubricated the door, adjusted the door, and communicated very well.
