After much online research, we were interested in the possibility of having a leathered finish on our granite slab to be installed in a kitchen remodel. We found that there were very few places that even knew about the finish, much less were able to produce it! We bought the granite from Daltile in Anaheim and Perfect Granite was just a few blocks away so we stopped in to see some examples and ask questions. Julie offered to leather a small sample piece (obtained from Daltile) so that we could see what it looked like against our cabinet samples, flooring, paint, etc. We decided that we wanted to proceed and they were willing to work with the fabricator that we had chosen, who had not previously worked with this particular finish. Mark Ortiz walked the fabricator through the process and explained how to make the edging that we requested as well, while not compromising the finish. He even gave them some enhancing and sealing solution so that they could complete the edge finish once it was installed. He made himself available and was very responsive and helpful when we had questions. In the installation process, acetone was used which rubbed off the enhancer/sealant in some places. We emailed Mark and he emailed a detailed response on the product and method of application necessary to restore the original finish. We couldn't be happier with the outcome! We are glad we chose the leathered finish and we highly recommend Perfect Granite for their workmanship and professionalism.
