Don't make your last payment until ALL the work in complete. We had our pool built and it was an overall good job, but after making the last payment, California Pools never came back to finish the work. I spent a couple of years going back and forth with the company and they never came back to finish the work.

Contacted Justin mcquire out of the Temecula office to bid out our job in the description seen above. Justin was very prompt, professional and courteous. His bid was within budget and a date was set. Almost every sub contractor assigned to California pools speaks NO ENGLISH. They made more problems with the work they did and then had to correct. Granted, Justin made it right but it shouldn't have had to. Case in point..... During construction of the seating area, the cinder block wall that was constructed was so poorly done that the block grout joints were lining up. The wall looked so poorly done California pool offered to stucco over it to hide there screw up or tear it down. Because the sub contractors didn't speak good English, they ended up stucco ing every square inch block wall in the backyard even walls they didn't build. Worked in my favor and I'm not complaining but you see, that's what your paying for.

California Pools & Spas take on too many jobs and they are not as available as they should be which is a problem. Their demeanor is alright but I'm not terribly delighted with their work. 

The price was for a new tile and plaster. They have been in business for over fifty years under the same license. Their prices were more than fair. They were very quick and nice. They were excellent. We were getting quotes up around $10,000 from all these other pool companies only to found out that the prices they were quoting us were for restoration of a public pool, because in a public pool we have to have two separate drains and all the feather garbage that are not required on a residential pool. Everyone else we talked to was trying to rip us off. I called the guy in California Pools and he said no. He came out and showed me the requirements and we went from there. They did everything, and they were there when they said they were going to be there. I would totally use them again in the future. I intend to use them again on our home pool.
