Similar to the other review the unit was too large for the closet. When I shut the door the front of the heater with vents in right against the door. 
Also a permit was required by the city. Have called twice with no response. To this day I am trying to get them to file paperwork needed for permit. They installed with no permit.

I had selected this company because of previous good experiences with them at another house.  I selected Carrier equipment also from good experience and because they offered rebates in the Spring.  I selected Variable Speed which is a quieter unit inside the house.  Although I didn't pick the top model, the model I did request was the second best.  So the price was high but I was hoping to offset with the rebates that were offered.  I scheduled the install but the tech team arrived a week early.  It was not convenient as I had another contractor completing work on that day.  So we negotiated and I agreed that they could do the work on the outside which was installing the AC unit.  That went very well.  They agreed to come back in 2 days to do the inside work.  I still had my other contractor working on the house and they both made arrangements to avoid impacting each other.  The unit for the inside was quite large and the workers spent the entire day getting it to fit into the existing closet.  They did have to remove some molding and they replaced it when they were complete.  I did have to repaint the trim as a result but nothing major.  The workers left the work areas clean.  The unit worked well.  I would highly recommend Carrier.  I have seen major improvements in the electric bill and the unit is very quiet once the desired temperature is reached because the unit then runs on low speed.  This is true for both the AC and heater.  Everything worked great and I was pleased at that time.  Then I found out that the installing company has to submit the rebate request to the electric company, SCE.  This was different than my past experience so I contacted the sales person and he confirmed that he would be submitting the rebate paper work.  Then for the next year, I called every 2 months to find out why I had not received the rebate.  After a year, I figured out that they had not been certified with SCE so I may not qualify for the rebate.  The sales person and the manager/family representative both assured me that there was a problem that they were resolving and that I still qualified for the rebate. Each time I called, I was assured that the rebate would be honored by SCE.  I continued calling through 2012.  Then I tried to call again in January 2013 and the sales person was never in the office and never returned my calls.  In February, I asked to speak to his manager who is the son of the owner, and he did not return my call.  I am very disappointed that they have decided to ignore my inquiries.  The rebate was $1250 which is a significant amount for me to ignore.  I now realize that I will not get the rebate.  I feel that the sales person should have advised me that they were not certified with SCE before I entered into the agreement for installation.  I could have waited until they were certified or I could have found another company to do the installation.  I thought that I had been patient waiting so I am surprised by their recent lack of response.  I don't like giving poor reviews but I feel that this was a significant issue in customer service and I believe that customer service is extremely important.   Most mistakes can be remedied if the company is responsive and willing to work with their clients.  I never select contractors that do not return my calls in a timely manner.  Sadly, I no longer recommend this company to my friends.  I would recommend that if you are looking for an AC/Heating installer, make sure that they are certified with the electric company and review the rebate process with them.
