This company is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad. The owner designed the system and ordered all the parts. The air conditioner/heating unit was too big for the closet. The pump he ordered for the system was too small and was incredibly noisy. It was not replaced until the second demanding call from me. Because the air conditioning/heating unit was too big, his unskilled work knocked out a 3 foot section of drywall. When they supposedly finished, they only placed - but did not secure - a 1 foot piece of drywall to cover the hole. After the third visit, there were still problems. The owner, Dave, is incredibly argumentative and always tries to tell you why the job is well done. This is complete B-llsh-t. I can only say that it is a good thing that I am a lawyer because my attorney fees will be less when I proceed with my anticipated legal action against him. If you don't have enough aggravation in your life, use this company. Otherwise, DON'T!!!!!!!!

The owner of the company came, she was really nice. It only took 1/2 hour to complete the job and just one person came out. They are good and would recommend them to others.

The workers arrived on time and worked diligently until everything was complete. They arrived at 8:00am and had completed the job by 2:30pm. We are very happy with this company and recommend it to anyone in need of cooler air.

Dave, the President of Airwest came to my home on the evening of 8/13 to discuss my needs for a new a/c unit.  The very next morning he had already researched the units that were best for my application, gave me a price and a date for the install.  He came out on 8/14 to check the ducting that needed some minor modification.  The unit was installed on 8/15 and so far we are very happy.  Airwest will check back in a week to insure everything is working properly.  The turnaround, from the time of our first meeting to the install was fantastic.  The Airwest team was punctual, clean and professional.  You really could not ask for better.  Pricing was fair and within range of, if not a bit below competitors.

The company was on time for the estimate, answered all questions and gave a written detailed estimate.  They had to reschedule once due to a family emergency that was totally understandable.  They came on time and were done in the promised two days.  Removal of the duct work was an additional day prior by a different company as it contained asbestos.  The system so far has operated very smoothly.
I did have to contact them to get information during the process as opposed to their contacting me regarding the change in scheduling.  Communication after the install has been difficult to obtain.  One of the reasons I went with this company is the rebate from Edison that is only offered through specific installers.  This requires HERS testing and verification that all was done correctly.  To date I have been unable to get a response on when inspections and testing will take place so that the rebate can be obtained.  I received a "we'll get to it" email on the 9th, no response since the 11th.  It seems 3 weeks time would at least be enough to schedule it.
So the response to would I use them again is actually "maybe."  They did a good job on the install but the follow up (which is important to me due to the rebate) has definitely been lacking.

OK, at this point I would say do not use this company.  They did finally respond to a phone call and come out to do the items required by the building inspector in December (remember, installed in August).  After I followed through on the rebate process I just today received a rebate check from So Cal Edison for $750.  Airwest sold me this unit on the basis of a $1500 rebate, it is in writing in their estimates with final pricing based on the $1500 rebate.  For the $750 I could have used a different company for the same or less money.

Installation was needed for a mortgage refinance, and was quickly done with a minimum of mess.  But the permit inspections with City of Long Beach, CA, have not been completed.  Inspector has been out 2 or 3 times, and said a refiling fee of $200 would be necessary after the next one if we didn't pass.  At issue is a condensation drip tube visible from the kitchen window that the city code requires, but isn't needed (per Airwest) since the hvac unit has a state approved automatic shutoff switch in the condensation pan.  Airwest has corrected other code infractions, but has not returned to complete the inspection, inspite of numerous phone calls, emails, and text messages.  The response from Mr. Dretzka is always, that he's very busy and will get right on it in a few days. Before beginning the project, Mr. Dretzka indicated that he was familiar with Long Beach policies and codes.  Needless to say, it is very disappointing to not have the project finished 1 and1/2 years later.
