However, there were few miscommunications, where he thought he was giving us the price of one vanity whereas we negotiated two. He said you drew one on a piece of paper and he priced one. That added some last minute $$$ we did not like. However, it could have been a honest mistake and there was no way of knowing. Anyway - we liked the service but the price could have been better. However, he told us upfront that he is not a cheap shop, so we kind of knew that he would be more expensive.
I would suggest that one go to this shop if they have a big job so that he can probably give a better deal on the whole job. Small jobs may be too expensive. However, anyway it is not going to be cheap.
The end result in my kitchen is so good that no one would ever know that we had a problem. In fact, when you feel the seam on the side of the sink that was a problem, it feels smoother than on the other side. The granite had also risen in the back near our window and they were able to make this perfect too despite having so little room to work there. I'm glad that I believed Dan when he said that we would be happy because this was much cheaper than replacing the granite.
In the downstairs bath, they ran across a problem when the replacement sink turned out to be somewhat wider than the one they removed, even though two stores had assured me that it was exactly the same size as the previous one. They solved the problem by creating notches in the wood structure under the sink.
All three workers were polite, hard working and extremely pleasant. Dan is a pleasure to work with and full of great suggestions. I will definitely use them again when I have a new project and strongly recommend them to others.
By going direct, though, you will save money. Their per sq ft costs for material are low, but made lower by the fact that they only charged us for what we used - not by the slab. As a result, they have a lot of remnants on site that you can purchase as well for smaller jobs like bathroom vanities.
I wish I could give them solid A ratings across the board, but there was one hiccup in the install. The worker who measured the counter tops is apparently dyslexic and wrote the measurements for our peninsula in reverse, causing it to be too short. They had to cut a new piece, which they did without much delay.
I liked the piece we selected better originally, but it still turned out very nice and the fabrication quality and install is flawless.
