UPDATED AS OF 07/31/2020: This is an update to previous review. Classic Improvement Products resolved the issue. The installer came out on 7/29 and made adjustments so the screen door works as it should. Thanks to them for a quick response. There is a design flaw with the retractable screen and the company says there is no way to fix it. We had a retractable screen put in on July 20, 2020. That evening I went out the door leaving it open and pulled the screen shut, the wind blew the door shut and when I tried to open the screen found I couldn’t. It turns out the screen handle was blocked by the front doorknob. Thankfully someone was home, otherwise I would have been locked out of my house. I called the company right away, however when they called back they said there was nothing they could do to fix this, that it’s a balance issue. I feel like they must know the doorknob might block the screen handle, and I think it was very unprofessional of them to not tell us and then to say there’s nothing that can be done. I won’t do business with them again.
