When he arrived, his tone was curt and English a bit off, but we really needed the work
done and I assumed he was an expert. He did not offer me the broken parts, as
required by California law. The repair of the dryer failed immediately. He refused
to fix it. We had another repairman out who reported that vent was nearly
blocked by the previous repair among other issues that left him scratching his
head. The second repairman fixed it properly and charged us $60 less.

Very good service, timely, professional.

Service call lasted about 1.5 hours. The repair work was done cleanly and professionally. He communicated clearly what he was doing and explained and showed me the problem with my refrigerator system. He explained the options clearly and let me decide the final course of action. I felt no pressure which option to choose. I chose the least cost option and happy about the outcome. I would recommend him to others and use him again when / if I need additional appliance repair work.

All went well. We did learn that w/our Bosch oven that replacement parts cost more! But the work was done smoothly, no mess etc.

I called Universal, as I had used them before with good results.
I was promised a visit form a tech on a certain day, and he never showed up. I called and after they and quot;tracked him downand quot; he was at my door within two hours. He barely looked at the oven and said his tools had been stolen from his truck, so he was unable to do any repairs or estimates at this time. To his credit, I was not charged for the call.
I called the company and got the same story, so felt kind of sorry for the guy and I decided to give them another try. Rescheduling was now two weeks out ... BUT he did show up ... at 5:30pm, when his time window was between 2:00 and 5:00. We had dinner guests coming at 6:00, so it was an interetsing mix of folks in the kitchen, as we all got to watch his fairly simple fix of recalibrating the fan on the oven. Entertainment at no extra charge!
Although it took four weeks to finally get a technician to our home, he did a fine job on the repair and the price, at $99.00, was certainly fair!
I would call them again, as they seem to be the only certified Thermadore techs in our area.

,I have a large GE Monogram and things were starting to thaw in the freezer, I was afraid I would be looking at a huge
expense to replace or repair it as well as lose all the thawing food. Jay came out late on the same day I called and found a timer that was malfunctioning, it was visibly in need of replacement. Unfortunately this did not totally fix the problem, When I called Jay back he came out the next day and found the coolant needed recharging. He was very pleasant and completed the work quickly, very reasonable price, I would definitely recommend him for appliance repairs.

My refrigerator was acting up before I went on my vacation (refrigerator secton was getting warmer). When I came home, some of the food were spoiled and frozen food were all melted. I saw Angieslist on TV several time and I wanted to try it. I joined Angieslist and started looking for a large appliance repair places. I did not know how to pick from the list. I checked several names but I still was not sure which one to pick. So, I went into BBB site and I got the Universal Appliance which was rated A+. Then, I went back to the Angieslist and found the Universal Appliance on the list. I sent an e-mail to them (Friday afternoon) and they called me back the next day. He (Jay) was able to come Saturday afternoon and found out what was wrong with my refrigerator. It was the timing switch that was supposed to defrost the ice periodically. It was not working and ice built up in the freezer panel. He was able to remove the ice and repair the switch within one hour. It has been 5 days since I got the repair, it is working as it should. I am very happy with the Universal Appliance. I would use them again and recommend to all my friends as well.

They were quick and punctual. They knew how to replace the ice maker and it came with a 90 day warranty.

Was done perfectly. Not much more to say. Please note that I have been using Universal Appliance for over 10 years now and every visit has been on time and under budget.

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THEY HAVE REPAIRED APPLIANCES IN OUR HOME. THEY ARE ALWAYS TIMELY, COURTEOUS AND DO QUALITY WORK AT A VERY FAIR PRICE. I WILL ALWAYS CALL THEM FOR OUR REPAIRS.

HE IS AN INDEPENDENT GUY. I CALLED HIM AND TOLD HIM WHAT I NEEDED. HE WAS IN DIRTY CLOTHES. I JUST PAID HIM TO DO WHAT HE DID. I THINK THAT IT WAS HIGH PRICED, BUT IT DID NOT MATTER.
