Once my car was ready, I came and and reviewed all of the work to be performed. We discussed masking options for the custom trunk. The bumper needed some work, but Nathan happen to have a full carbon fiber bumper in his shop, so I opted for that piece instead.
Along the way, he or his office manager Nicolette would contact me with updates. Nate encountered a problem with the trunk and had me come in to review. During our discussions, he brainstormed with his colleagues and came up w/ a solution to address the trunk problem. We also review some masking options for the carbon fiber bumper.
When the car was ready, we reviewed all the work performed, and it was amazing. He was able to custom engineer the trunk, and the paint was flawless. He even had my car fully detailed, including the engine bay, wheels, and even the brake calipers!
I did some research on yelp and found Cand C. Amazingly, they had a perfect score with lots of reviews. I was a bit dubious at first (that kind of score seems too good to be true), but went to visit them for an estimate. First thing I asked is whether they are in the insurance networks (i.e. they take jobs from the insurance companies in exchange for giving the insurance companies a break on pricing). The answer was no. They don't do that - they prefer to work for the owner of the car rather than the insurance company. That was a huge plus for me. I didn't want shoddy work on my practically new truck. I didn't want cheap parts or only cosmetic fixes. It turned out to be even more important when I found out that the only way to properly fix my truck was to replace the ENTIRE frame. This shop was going to take literally hundreds of parts from my truck and build it from scratch on a new frame.
The insurance company agreed to pay for this, but they wanted to use a junk-yard frame and cut some corners. Rett and Nathan (the owners) worked extensively on the case, pressuring the insurance company to use a new frame and to pay for ALL of the repairs that were needed with no cut corners (example, scratches on my tailgate that could have been pre-accident, but weren't). I felt really good about picking these guys - they were really in my corner on getting the insurance company to do the right thing.
Long story short, after 6 weeks of work, they turned my truck back over to me and it looks pristine. I'm not gonna gloss over the truth though, there were two problems that needed follow-up attention. 1) a loose hose clamp that was leaking a bit of fluid and 2) a slight squeak from the driver side door. The important part was not that there were problems (and considering the extent of the work I would have been surprised if there weren't), but how the shop dealt with the problems. When I came back with the problem, each time they dropped what they were doing and the owner and a tech worked to fix the issue while I waited. No and quot;make an appt and come back on Tuesdayand quot; or and quot;let's look at the warranty to see if it's coveredand quot; nonsense - they just wanted to make it right with no questions asked. In fact, the tech came to me and apologized for the fluid leak - he really seemed to feel bad about it! In short, these men are true craftsmen and take pride in their work. That is tough to find in today's world.
