"Arevalo Plastering takes great pride in high quality workmanship and customer service. We were hired to make a wall that had numerous textures and patches more uniform. To make the wall perfect required breaking out whole sections of the wall, as there were patches of varying depth and texture. The HOA declined to do a complete makeover. They instead approved a scope of some patching and application of a skim coat over the entire wall. This was to meet budgetary constraints and to achieve two main objectives: 1. They wanted to paint before the winter 2. One of the owners had plans to put in some new windows into the wall, which would later require more break out and it was felt by him, that it didn't make sense to pay for extensive work on the wall at this time. We made recommendations where appropriate, but also attempt to work with every financial situation. We completed the work on time, per the approved scope of work and received praise for improving the overall look of the building from the owners before submitting our final invoice. Some weeks later, at the painter’s urging, the HOA then asked for a price to complete more extensive break-out work which we had proposed when we first met with them, and which they at that time had declined.. The price was now double the contract we had completed because what was being asked would require breaking out some of the work we had just executed in order to make room for additional patches, redoing the work we had undertaken, plus additional processes not included in the original contract. This was explained to the HOA. We regret to receive a less than positive review. There were dissenting opinions on the HOA in response to the painter’s recommendations. We feel this contributed to certain members being satisfied and other members being dissatisfied. We are continually looking for ways to deliver an exceptional service and appreciate the input. We will be incorporating additional documentation in order to deliver an exceptional overall experience for future HOA customers."
"Thank you so much for taking the time to review us. It is helpful to know that you found our prices too high. Your feedback highlights a need for us to communicate better with our clients as to the source of our costs. We are a very small business and usually the owner is working on the job as well. His added expertise is hard to measure... having said this, perhaps it is helpful if we let our clients know that we pay our workers more than the going rate for residential work, a reflection of the trust we place in their honesty and work ethic. Perhaps we also need to be more transparent about the cost of materials. Stucco and plaster materials continue to go up in price at the wholesale level. Being finish work, our work is more costly than many other trades. Those of our competitors who are not licensed and/or don't carry worker's comp will definitely offer prices lower than ours. Thanks again for highlighting a need for us to share more with our clients."
Arnaldo and his crew were skilled and professional. Susan, Arnaldo's wife and business partner, is an efficient project manager.
Arnaldo Arevalo and his crew were prompt, tidy, courteous, professional, and conscientious. The pricing was extremely competitive with other bids we received, and the quality of the work was exceptional. The business side of the operation was handled in a prompt, responsive and very professional manner. There were several weather delays affecting the project, but the crew was back on the job as soon as humanly possible. They coordinated their timing with the contractor who painted the trim, so that the painters could use the Arevalo scaffolding, which resulted in a time and cost reduction to us on the paint work. The crew arrived at the job site at the appointed time each day, notified us when the arrived and departed, and tidied the site daily. The job is complete and the stucco is beautiful in every detail; our yard is now tidier/cleaner than when the job began. I would highly recommend this business to anyone needing stucco work.
