I called Shuck Drilling and requested them to my house to check out the well to see why I was not getting water to the house. I had already connected a hose to my neighbors house so this was a 'non-emergency' call. Shucks arrived about 3 hours later, and gave me the best and worst scenarios of between 400 to 1500 dollars. The repair crew arrived about an hour later, pulled up 100 feet of pipe and a pump that had disconnected itself. I was told and shown that the pump was 13 years old, and i know these things only last ten years...so it needed replaced. I also discovered that the water index had dropped to 92 feet in my area, so I had Shucks add another 20 feet of depth. They replaced the pump, the control box, added some pipe, and a new pressure gauge...a few other necessities and out the door was $1442. Figure a little over a hundred bucks a year...that's not too bad, especially with the professionalism and quality of work that was done. I'm happy.
