Our pool cleaning motor failed over Labor Day weekend shortly after we just cleared an algae problem. Therefore we couldn't run the filter. We felt we needed repair as soon as possible. Over the weekend I called Green Valley Pool and left a message for repair. The office called on Tuesday Sept. 3 and we described our problem. The first thing that we were informed of was the $75. hourly rate to come and look at the pool. Billing information took precedence over problem at hand. A serviceman came Wednesday, Sept 4th, just to look at the problem. Meanwhile it's Wednesday and no repair yet. At that time, we were given an estimate of $1430. approximately for the job. The estimate was written on an envelope, which the serviceman kept, no written estimate for the customer. We said the following week was too late so we were told they would come the following Friday to install the motor/ pump and the sand filter the following week. We were then told that after the motor and pump were installed on Friday , we would owe $553 plus a $200 deposit on the sand filter that would be installed the following week as that had to be ordered. After a heated discussion about us not wanting to pay toward the filter before installation, the technician said we would just have to pay for work as it was done. The motor and pump were installed on Sept 6th. The sand filter was installed Sept. 12th. The total bill broke down to: the initial $75 service charge and $150 labor charge. The cost of the pump/motor was $395.; Sand Filter was $599; Sand 65.70; other materials $60.27; state tax 74.71; City/county tax 18.96 for a total of 1438.64.
The things we didn't like: The office customer service attitude is poor; The primary service technician is not customer oriented and needs to work on answering questions with valid information, not sarcasm. The work clean-up was sloppy with sand and blue pipe sealant pieces left on the floor of the pump house.
The things we liked: The serviceman was punctual. We have a pool filtering system that is working. The quality of materials seems very good. Pentair Superflo high performance pump; Pentair Triton Fiberglass Sand Filter.

iT WAS A GOOD MEETING AND WE SIGNED UP FOR THE WEEKLY SERVICE...Now if the quality of the pool service is as they claimed we will be very happy...

After a severe storm, my insurance company said they would cover the costs for a pool cleaning. I asked for a quote to clean my pool, to include acid wash and lime/calcium removal. I was told they wouldn't do the removal of the calcium, but gave me a quote for the rest. I didn't like that I had to pay a fee upfront for the quote, but had we decided to do the work it would have been applied to the bill, and I didn't like that they wouldn't remove the calcium - I didn't want to do it myself as it's a lot of work.
The only reason we didn't have the work done was because my insurance company would only reimburse us after the bill was paid, and Green Valley, understandably, didn't want to carry that expense; and we didn't have that money available. So, we ended up doing the work ourselves.
The staff was friendly and helpful, just circumstances kept us from using their service this time.

Pool Tech came on Monday to check out pool pump that was not working. Determined that the motor needed replaced. They had one in stock. Returned on Tuesday to replace broken motor. Tech was very professional and completed the repair quickly. Pump is now working well.

See above. Don't ever hire Green Valley Pool!

THEY ALWAYS DO GREAT WORK. MOST OF THE TIME I CALL THEY ARE OUT THAT WEEK. THEY ARE ALWAYS VERY POLITE AND GOOD TO WORK WITH. THEY NEVER TRY TO TALK ME INTO HAVING THEM DO SOMETHING THAT IS NOT NEEDED.
