A third party broke my windshield and paid for the service (repair of my broken windshield). It was $1631.25. The windshield leaked from the first rain.( 1 year warranty) I contacted A Touch of Glass and they had another company touch up the sealant - A Touch of Glass paid the $50 but windshield still leaked. A Touch of Glass then referred me to their national windshield expert who advised that I go to Alliance Coach in Florida. I went there and Alliance found that the windshield was not sealed properly when it was replaced by A Touch of Glass. A Touch of Glass did not remove the old sealant (urethane) and the new sealant did not adhere to the old sealant. Alliance coach removed the windshield and thoroughly cleaned off the old urethane - then replaced and properly resealed the windshield. No leaks since then. Cost to me for properly fixing the problem $863.33. . I then re-contacted A Touch of Glass for reimbursement and they declined to reimburse me. I was told that since the "repair" of my windshield by A Touch of Glass, the company had been sold to a new owner who was not obligated to honor the warranty. The last contact I had with A Touch of Glass was 6-8 months ago. I am faced with $863.33 worth of repairs to fix an improperly installed windshield as well as the inconvenience of having a significant amount of rain leak into my RV. I am neither pleased with the workmanship nor the follow-up customer care.

"We are in receipt of your letter dated June 26, 2015 in regards to (member’s name removed). At the time of the installation which was on 11/1/2013 the name of the company was A Touch of Glass of Yuma, Inc. and had a different owner. The business sold on July 1, 2014 and the new owners retained no responsibility or liability or any implied warranties from the purchase date of the business. On 4/7/14 (member’s name removed) called from San Diego to tell us that the windshield was leaking, I had explained that we were under new ownership and the new owner had no responsibility or liability or implied warranties from the other company, but we would take a look at the windshield as he was coming back though Yuma on his return trip. On or around August 2014 (member’s name removed) called from Montana and said that his plans had changed and that he was not coming back to Yuma but was in Yellowstone. After checking with the new owner the decision was made to help him out this time so we found a glass company to seal the windshield so we called Glass Doctor of Bozeman for a seal on the windshield. At the time of the repairs the Bozeman office told me that the molding had come loose and all they did was reseal it to the coach. We heard from (member’s name removed) on 10-22-2014 he said that the coach was leaking again and he was informed to call the previous owner at 928-246-2820, because the warranty was not though the new company. The number that (member’s name removed) has for the previous owner is incorrect on his letter, this may be the reason that he has not been able to get in touch with him. The national expert that (member’s name removed) spoke to was Todd from Coach Glass the supplier that we purchase our motorhome glass from, and does not work from our company and at no time did we hear back from (member’s name removed) until he called saying that the work had been completed by the dealership and he wanted to be reimbursed at which time he was informed by the new owner that we would not pay for anything that had not been authorized and then we received this letter from you. If need be I can contact our corporate attorneys for copies of the documents in regards to the sell/purchase of the business. Please feel free to call me if you have questions 928-344-2227 Monday – Friday 7:30am – 5:00pm. Sincerely Brenda Lee Smith"

I had broken a pane of glass in an existing window by attempting to close it. When it wouldn't close properly, I used excessive force, causing the brake. For about a week I called multiple window replacement companies to see if they could repair it. All of them explained that they didn't do that, they would want to replace the entire thing and some of them had a minimum number of windows in order to come out. That's not what I wanted. One actually suggested I contact A Touch of Glass.
I looked them up on line and it appeared that they only did car windshield replacement, but I called anyway as I was running out of time and options. I spoke with a young lady that confirmed that they indeed did home window repair but that it was a new portion of their business and that they had not updated their website yet. Regardless, they were able to send a technician out to my house that day for an estimate.
Technician came out within the time slot and confirmed within minutes that he could indeed fix my window and diagnosed the underlying problem. He would go back and work up a quote and then I would get a call. He indicated that it could take up to a week to get the pane in, but that it could be much earlier as well.
I didn't hear from them that day and when I called the next morning I was given a very fair quote and they explained again that it could be a week to get the pane in. They asked for a deposit which I was able to pay over the phone easily enough.
Unfortunately the pane didn't come in early, which was fine, but then we were up against the 4th of July weekend. A week after I placed a deposit the pane came in. I set up an appointment with the technician to come out and now the window is as good as new.
They did a great job and I would most certainly use them again in the future.
