Darrel's Locating

They did not locate the leak in the right place, I paid them and then they would not transmit the claim to the insurance company and the lady mouthed off to me. The guy came out as planned. He was on time, but he would not transmit the claim to the insurance company and when I called back I said "I need you to this because I am tending to get this done before I get back to work and get some things finished." The women mouths off to me and hung up on me. I want to say her name was Kim. It was Darrel's wife. The office person was definitely an "F". He was a little bit full of himself and so much as to my plumber made a comment about him. [inaudible at 3:36] full of himself and he was kind of impressed with himself. I would never use them again. I want my money back. He said he located the leak in the middle of the storage room floor and said it was under the slab there. He only used heat detection (thermal detection). I didn't know better. I was impressed by his website and a plumber had referred me to him. When he didn't transmit and refused to transmit to my insurance company and then sent me this one sentence. "I found the leak in the market." I was like well okay. The plumber still has a problem. He needs to know where the manifolds are. He needs to know how deep it is because that is going to tell them if they want to go through the slab or not. So I called my insurance company up and I told them what was going on and they said "We're going to cover a lot of this stuff and we will pay for the leak locator service. We're gonna send out our own. The company they sent out was 100 times more professional than these people and they used 3 different things. They used sonar, they used pressure detection, and there was a third kind of detection they used. He said the leak wasn't there. He says the leak is actually in the slab which we knew that, but it's under the wall behind the wall. When we broke open the wall based upon that and they reported that back to my insurance company. They sent a lovely report, detailing exactly where it was, where everything was marked, and where the manifolds were so my insurance company could decide how they want to do this. Do they want to smash open our foundation, which I really didn't want, or are they going to go in through the walls to reroute our hot water. So the guy from this other company expressed it was behind the wall and when the plumbing guy came to reroute us, he had to open up the wall anyway because we was going to go through exactly that location, which showed water damage. When they opened up the wall, all the conduits for the air handlers were coming up through the slab there and that's exactly where the water was. Darrel's Locating marked it wrong. I have pictures uploaded that I can share. Their markings vs the other company's markings. It was so obvious when they opened up the wall and you could see where the water damage was. I mean, it was just in your face obvious. Had the dug in the other area, the guy couldn't even tell him if it was a foot deep of 4 feet deep. The plumber said if this is 4 feet deep we have to be at least twice that across and that means you are taking out the entire storage room and you get down there and find out that the leak is not there.
