We LOVE the tennis courts. Our older joints find it hard to play on the regular hard courts around Tucson, so we tried the JCC simulated clay courts. These courts are much easier on our joints and we can play on consecutive days here, not possible at UA tennis center. Have also used the gym facilities and we are happy with their equipment as well as their equipment selection. Also enjoy their fitness classes. Good variety of classes and instructors - some instructors I enjoy more than others, but I think that's a personal preference item. Only drawback for some might be their hours, but otherwise, we are very happy with JCC.

There is a good variety of group fitness classes, including zumba, step, spinning. There are many scheduled classes, although most are during the day, Monday-Friday. There are always a couple of evening classes to attend, except Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays. All is listed on their website. I mainly attend the spinning classes. The bikes are good, the instructors good to excellent. There are plenty of classes for access-there could be a couple more, and this facility has the most spinning classes in this particular area of town. The zumba classes are fun. Currently, the facility is undergoing remodeling, so there is some juggling of classes. The locker rooms are clean and functional, but I am looking forward to seeing what the remodel will accomplish--always nice to have fresh locker rooms. I am also hoping that perhaps there will be separate areas for adults and children, as at times there are a large number of children in the locker room. My spouse uses the pool and gives access high marks. This is really a vibrant community center--the staff and the gym members are lovely people, which I thoroughly enjoy. Impossible to feel lonely there! Makes it fun to show up to work out.

We love the JCC. In the summers my kids are taught to swim by Red Cross instructors at the pool. They emphasize reading, arts, Judaics, and play. One of the best things, kids do not need to be potty trained prior to attending the ECE.
