Looking for some rustic Mexican furniture and found a piece I loved- even better- the store was having a 30% off sale. Purchased item, wrote check-was informed they didn't deliver but had two sub contractors that they could recommend. Live alone and have small car- so there was no way I was getting this home myself.First sub contractor never called me back- second charged about 1/3 the price of the purchase but I was going out of town and wanted it delivered before I left. Got a call 48 hours after purchase. Apparently , the store had incorrectly tagged the item and it was actually several hundred dollars more than marked. They would not honor the purchase nor would they release the item at that price. Insult to injury- I was told that the store manager "reviewed the store video tape to see who could have changed the price tag" but could not find a definative culprit ( Excuse me? Could the store have perhaps made the error ?) I informed the hapless manager that since they tagged the item and calculated the items discount , processed the transaction , as well as accepted my check- perhaps she could talk to the regional manager to see what else could be done. She informed me that she would speak to him and have him contact me directly. He made her call me yet again to inform me that he would not honor the transaction but would agree to sell me the item at cost ( two hundred dollars about marked price). I declined and requested he contact me directly ( at this point I felt horrible for her- she was obviously being thrown under the bus). He made her contact me AGAIN - to tell me that he would not honor the purchase and that the store would be returning my check-period. Lesson learned- if you buy something here and don't get it out the door the day of purchase 1) You will pay an additional 1/3 the price of the item to get it delivered (if you get a call back from the preferred sub contractor) 2) If the store makes an error -they will " review the security tapes to see who could have switched the tag" and throw the poor kid who answers the phone under the bus- ( don't expect a call back from the ? owner? regional manager? Never did get his name) 3) Customer service be damned . I have wrote some great reviews for Angie's so am not a "crank" but this was just a lousy experience.....
