Starr Pass Roofing

Initial contact was pleasant and they seemed eager to earn the job. The owner/CEO Martin Lopez specifically committed to handling contact with my insurance adjuster which made hiring them much more attractive, coercing my business on false pretenses as he s now pressing me to fulfill his commitment. Martin and his project manager Jarrod Jay Hills did an inspection, took pictures and created a quote which matched the insurance assessment exactly. Jay immediately turned up the pressure to pay them and lock in my quoted price. I paid $1000 to secure the price and then came the pressure to pay 60% so they could start. That was dependent on my insurance company and my mortgage company so it took about three weeks. On the day I paid the rest of the initial 60% Jay placed a sign in my front yard advertising STARR PASS ROOFING LLC without asking permission or agreeing on a space rental fee. This is not mentioned anywhere in the contract I signed and because he couldn t be bothered to ask for consent the fee will be determined entirely by me. Once they had the 60% down in their hands they got real quiet. Meanwhile their sign was catching stray bits of tissue every time the wind blew and required constant cleanup that was never offered by those responsible, so that fee will also be determined by me alone. I kept reaching out to Jay and asking for a start date, but I only got nonspecific replies and demands to get on the phone for verbal manipulation. Because of my poor health and my inexperience with roofing I asked Jay repeatedly what I needed to do before, during, & after the job. His answer was always that I didn t need to do anything and they would handle everything, and as a result my bathrooms are both dirty & disgusting with roofing debris. They need to be scrubbed top to bottom and one of them needs its carpet cleaned. Since Jay couldn t be bothered to suggest putting down a sheet to make it easier to clean up, these fees will be determined entirely by me. I reiterated to Jay that I need at least three days advance notice due to my poor health. After weeks of waiting he contacted me late on a Saturday evening eager to start Monday morning. That s only half of the advance notice he committed to. He was emphatic that they would be able to finish in one day because he knew how eager I am to be done with this. In hindsight I see this was manipulation & coercion to get my agreement to his desired schedule, because there s no way they could ve met that deadline. The crew arrived around 7:30am this past Monday but Jay didn t arrive until around 9am and after a brief chat he left for lunch (Martin knows this but continues to assert that a manager was onsite for 100% of the job, for his continued gaslighting and accusing me of lying I require mental health compensation to be determined by me alone). The crew continued to work while Jay was gone. I stayed inside due to medical fatigue and to avoid potential injury from their power tools. At around 6pm I was told that they would finish the next day.

Very efficient crew. The job site eas left clean and the work performed was excellent. I recommend this roofing company.

The owner of Starr Pass was extremely pleasant and helpful in dealing with me and the insurance company. He explained the steps to be taken in the replacement of my roof He handled all correspondence before and after the roof was installed, then he told me exactly how the replacement of my roof would go. He came when the crew started the new roof, to make sure I was comfortable with what was going to happen. The crew was courteous and respectful of my house and surrounding areas. They did a great job, in Arizona heat, of installing the beautiful roof and they did another great job of cleaning up all around my house, after the roof was put on.. Several homes in my area have had their roofs replaced by Starr Pass and just seeing how the jobs were done, convinced me to call Starr Pass Roofing. I highly recommend Martin and Starr Pass Roofing if you need a new roof. Very professional and pleasant to do business with.

Martin â s crew were very efficient, no surprises. Adhered strictly to time and budget windows, What they said they would do they did. Martin was a very helpful interface with the insurance company, and has a strong personal interest in doing the very best for his customers.

Martin is a special breed of business owner. He is knowledgeable, polite, well-spoken, confident and HONEST in his communication. He told us he wouldn't be the lowest bid that we would get (had total roof damage after a monsoon storm) but he would fight to get what we deserved from our insurance company and we would get the best quality roof. The other 3 bid that we received one dealt with a part of the roof. He has bent over backwards to make sure things are taken care of and keeps us informed of what is happening. We will be getting our new roof in the first part of September, and I intend on adding to this review.
