The delivery men tried to weasel out of taking the existing refrigerator outside of the house by falsely claiming that I had paid for curbside delivery. The installation guide for the new refrigerator was missing, but we did not realize that until later. Parts wanted to charge me $20 to mail one to me. A manager at the local Sears store in Maryland was understanding and provided one free of charge. Ten days later, I realized that two of the appliances had undergone a huge reduction in price. Someone in corporate had to threaten the manager in Tucson to get him to adjust the charges. I was on the phone with these people for hours, then I had to go back into the store in Tucson to meet with the manager. It was way too much work to get them to do their jobs.

They replaced the compressor. As it turned out that wasn't what was wrong. A different auto service place found a leak which they repaired for under $30. The mechanic also showed me the haphazard installation Sears had done on the compressor. He wrote up a summary of his findings which I took back to Sears. The manager said they usually just replace the compressor because its faster than looking for a leak etc. One customer out of 100 still has a problem. He did return my my money.

They showed up on time and got the job done. I will use them again in the future.

We purchased a dishwasher from Sears in Park Mall, on Saturday, July 6. We arranged for installation, delivery, and removal of the old dishwasher on Wednesday, July 10. There was a 2-day delay on installation, which was annoying. This is probably because Sears uses sub-contractors, over whom they have limited control. When the dishwasher was installed, the installer was professional, and did a great job.

Our old model was at least 15 years old, and we can't believe how quiet the new model is.

We are comfortable recommending Sears as a place to purchase large appliances, and to do the installation as well.

They use a third party installer. He started on time and finished on time. He accidentally broke the water main value to my house and he replaced the value him self. Not only did he not charge me, he installed an even better water value than what I had. The guy was very nice, very thorough in explaining his service, and he was very knowledgeable.
