"Thank you [Removed Member name]. I was a pleasure working with you. We are so happy that your project turned out beautiful. We look forward to working together again in the future."
I know why Pro Remodeling, the owner John Almond and all his contractors are on the top of every review. From the first contact to the end result, our Master Bathroom remodeling was professionally and perfectly done. His contractors are real craftsmen and never settled for "good enough". Each element had to be... and was... perfect. Even when I thought it was OK, it had to meet their standards. Once they started (when all the pieces where delivered) it was nonstop. One day, three trades were in the bathroom at the same time. Each day they cleaned up after themselves. In the Pro Remodeling office, Pam can answer anything and responds very promptly. You never have to ask twice. To get that quality and cooperation is slightly pricier than the run of the mill contractor, but worth each and every penny. How many people show off a bathroom? We do because our friends have only one thing to say... "Wow"!
"This job was performed by a trusted and proven roofing subcontractor whom we have used for over 10 years. The roof in question is a tile roof with a steep slope. When observed from street level, we could see that there were tiles missing all over the roof. When the roofer got up on the roof to examine it, he discovered that there were many more tiles that were loose. He advised me and [member name removed] that the best solution to fix the leaks would be a total reroof. However, due to budgetary constraints, she requested and accepted our bid to try for a band-aid repair. The repair consisted of removing several rows of tile from each side of the valley where the leak was present, reflashing the valley, sealing the flashing, then reinstalling the roof tiles. He explained to us and to [member name removed] that the bad flashing was hindering the proper drainage of the roof and a high probability that this was the source of the leak. He also explained that the leak could be originating from another part of the roof that he couldn't see unless the tiles were removed. She chose the band-aid repair and we gave her a full 2 year guarantee. When she called in November 2013 to report leaking, we sent our roofing subcontractor back to look at the problem. He thinks that the new leak is coming from a different area than the area he repaired and advised her and us that a complete new roof would be needed to make sure that the roof would not leak. Our guarantee expired on January 11, 2013, which is 2 years from the date of completion of the job. We sent our roofer back out even though our warranty had expired, and he was prepared to redo his work at no charge if he could determine that his repair was faulty. Based on these factors, I feel that the complaint is not valid. We care about the quality of our work and we care about our customers as evidenced by our excellent record of 34 years under my ownership. Thank you for the opportunity to respond. John Almond."
Positives:
1. Project started only when all materials were available to minimize delays.
2. John and Russ Almond were very easy to work with, checked in daily throughout the project and were very responsive to our questions, concerns and follow up requests throughout the entire process. As a result, our punch list was addressed as items occurred as opposed to waiting for the project to be completed.
3. Pro Remodeling bent over backwards to make sure all our requests and desires were addressed in an effort to assure our complete satisfaction.
Areas that would have contributed to a higher overall rating:
1. Initial allowances on the solid surface (corian) vanities and tub surrounds were underestimated by 100% which led to our needing to reassess our overall design.
2. Not addressing the influence of non-squared walls on the base design and material selection contributed to less that desired fit and finish on the corian, wall tile and mirror installation.
3. A better effort to contain demolition and construction dust and debris throughout the project.
What would we as homeowners do differently:
1. In selecting natural stone or marble listelle (tile border), we would have personally hand selected each piece to better eliminate piece to piece variability. Not doing so caused significant rework charges and project delay. (Although we expected some variability in the natural stone product, no one emphasized the degree of variability that could be present).
"Member, thank you for the kind words and positive comments to Angie's List. We want you to know how much we value you as our customer. John and Russ"
texture of wall repair is a little off and I was told to sand before I painted.
