Countertops were terrible poorly cut with overhang from 0"-3" , seams were very noticeable and rough cut, major gaps around stove, brand new refrigerator scratched as countertop opening was too small. There were also cracks in the countertops and they were never sealed. This resulted in mold under cabinets in drywall and dripping of water over my electrical box under the sink.
There was no trim installed on top of my cabinets and holes on sides were not reveneered, large hole under kitchen counter, I had to put floor under kitchen sink. Pantry door still not aligned as the frame sides are not true and level it needs to be reframed. Therefore the doors to the pantry still have huge gap in the bottom.
The hood was vented into my attic, when there was a vent pipe to my roof, major fire hazard, had to have vent exhaust replied to attic roof.
I was so tired of looking at the cracks and seams in the countertop, I removed it to have new countertop installed. Upon removing the countertop I encountered water stains and mold, cardboard where it was used to level countertop. I had to replace molded drywall due to health hazard.
I submitted a claim to to registrar of contractors, mr Poreda had fifteen days to respond he responded with a letter saying he takes no responsibility for this complaint, no date on letter, no license number on letter. I photographed the problems and submitted the photos to registrar of contractors. i then proceeded to have new countertops Installed and to have most of the carpentry repaired and finished have the tiles repaired, as the register of contractors said it would take four months to consider my case. My kitchen remodeled twice in one year costing me a bit more than $5000.00 for the newest new kitchen.
Because I put new countertops on his job the board was unable to issue a formal complaint, this process took over a year. Was i to live in a house with mold in the walls while I waited for the registrar of contractors to process my case? was i to vacate my house as to leave intact for over ten months? According to A.R.S. 32-1155 #2 which states; The contractor's work has been subject to neglect, modification or abnormal use.
