DO NOT do business with this company. They did not honor warranty agreement. Overcharged for replacement. Don’t respond to phone calls.

They're trying to advised me that I will be needing a service in the future that will cost me too much. And I realized that my A/C Unit is new and I won't be needing that job at all.

They did pretty good. I didn't have much to do with them, my wife did. I thought it was a little expensive for the work they did. I think they charged $200, $220, something like that. It took them a couple days to get down here. They did ok. The person I talked to was very outgoing and gave me some information. I dealt with him instead of the other people that were here. It was very professional. I didn't get mad at them so I didn't throw anybody out. I would use them again if they wanted to come down here and do some work.

I signed a contract for multiple years. It was more on the scheduling.

They are actually located in Phoenix so they have to send someone down and one night when they sent them down they are often different and I like to have the same person all the time. And their prices on the repair are high, they were very reasonable on the installation and not so much on the repairs.

Keep in mind that I live out of state and am renting the property so I am not able to be there in person.  The technician fixed the issues but the remainder of my experience with Orangutan was terrible. They replaced our HVAC system in September 2011 and called to schedule an inspection.  I scheduled with them and they failed to show.  I called and rescheduled and when they finally showed, they told me that there was $1200 worth of damage to the system which I could have them repair or install an entire new system.  I told them that it was ridiculous to install a new system when the current one is not even 5 years old.  I had to remind the technician that Orangutan installed the unit in 2011 and he did not seem to know that.  I still had the warranty paperwork and asked him about the 5 year warranty that had not yet expired.  He told me that we were not covered because the issues were due to "act of god".  I called the main office to speak with a manager about why the warranty (that should have covered parts) was void but couldn't get any answers except "act of god". They did agree to drop the price from $1200 to $615 to fix the issues.  I was worried about a potential fire so I told them to go ahead and fix it.  I asked the technician to e-mail me a copy of the invoice for my records which he agreed to do.  Over a week later, I received a call stating that I owe Orangutan $685.  I stated that I had not received the invoice and I will pay after I receive the invoice.  I did not receive the invoice so I called the next day and they took my message.  After 4 days, I still did not receive the invoice so I called them to inquire.  I was told that the individual that I spoke to just returned from a family emergency and he would send me the invoice.  That was on June 4, 2015 and today is June 24, 2015 and still no invoice. I had to contact another HVAC company to do an inspection to confirm that they did the work and did it correctly.  I will not contact Orangutan for services ever again.  They are very unprofessional.  I read about them online and most of the reviews are scathing.  I do not recommend this company.

They claim that their unit is not causing the issues. I would like for them to come out and lift the unit so a roofer can seal it. They charged additional money for the thermostat control inside. I also bought a five year warranty and they are unwilling to honor it. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

They do a lot of services.  We had further maintenance agreement that they would be on call, if we got an issue with our air conditioner while we're gone or while we're there.  They will make a service call without any extra charges or extra contract.  They give a good rate and discount for their air conditioner, furnace and water heater.  I found them to be reliable in a sense that they are not always finding something wrong.  90% of the time, there is not issue.  They have everything checked out, and they are not trying to upsell you something that you do not know if you needed or not.  They make a couple of suggestions about some things.  They come here twice a year for spring check on the air conditioning and followup check for the furnace.  They are very responsive, and it is easy to get an appointment when you call as far as getting a schedule when we need to have it.  They'll make that work.  They're on time, and they're there when they say they are going to be.  Generally, we've had a couple of issues where the technician got hung up on a previous call, and we're rescheduled for afternoon, and the guy never made it there because he was on a different call.  But that's a normal thing.  It just comes up sometime.  They call and tell you when they're half an hour out to being there.

After the initial maintnance appt. when Tech number one reported everything looked good, I was happy. However, I was extremely disappointed when they would not return to my home for 2 days to fix the problem that occured one day after the initial maintnance person gave us a thumbs up on everything.  When I bought the maintance warrenty from Orangutan, I expressed concern about the response time for emergency calls since this company, which I learned about on a trip to Home Depot, is based out of Phx., 120 miles from Tucson.
The Orangutan tech assured me that response times are never a problem as Orangutan has people here, in Tucson, everyday.  He was really convincing.
Once I realized the first Orangutan tech had not returned the electic switch to it's correct position and come back into the house to check to see if the unit was working, I became disgusted.  But after the third tech, from a different company came and told me what the problems were and they could all be fixed and paid for by my home warrenty program, I was really furious that the second tech from Orangutan told us it was the compressor and the unit needed to be replaced.
After this whole episode was over, we were able to go back home after staying 4 nights in a hotel.  I began calling Orangutan to tell them we were not at all pleased with their service or the expertise of their technicians and we wanted to cancel the maintnance program and have our money refunded for remaining time.  I called many times, talked with many people to have my information taken down with promises that "someone will call you back later today".
I have chronic illnesses that keep me from driving to Phx directly and making a meeting with the CEO of this totally nonresponsive company.  No one has called me back to terminate my contract and refund me money.  I am guessing they are trying to ride out the time on the contract by not having contact with me regarding the maintnance contract.
Interestingly,  they do call to set up more "maintnance" appointments, at which time I tell them I do not want maintnance ever again and I want to talk to a manager about terminating my contract....then the same thing happens.  They take my info and say,' I will give this to my manager and have them call you." No call.  Nada. Zip.  I imagine they delete my message or when the manager gets it, he throws it away.  If you ever need directions for how to play the "Give them the Run Around" game, Orangutan is the company you want to call.
Really, at your own risk, do business with this company....Do not believe them when they tell you they have the backing and warrenty of Home Depot behind them.  They do not.

Very displeased and feeling duped, I call Feb. 9th to Orangutang and speak with store manager Jerry who promises me he will talk with the general manager (Mark Stoltz) and get back to me on Monday Feb. 11th - he never called back and never responded to my voice messages. I have left 2 voice messages to the general manager and have not heard back. I want my $49 refunded back to me. The technician mislead me, and I was duped into believing I had a serious situation that needed immediate repair and replacement. It cost me an additional $75 to find out nothing was wrong with my water heater (but at least I didn't write Orangutang a check for $1600 for a new water heater). The whole thing stinks and with no one returning my calls but having quickly cashed my check, I question their business practices and certainly their follow through with customer service and complaints. Orangutang gladly comes out to inspect your plumbing or AC/Heater but then gives you a story about how you need to replace your system. Seems they are more interested in the big bucks than honesty and truly taking care of their customers - of which I will never be in the future.

I would highly recommend them. They had a coupon on Angie’s List. I spent $39. They were here exactly when they said they would be and did everything they said they would. They were very friendly. They told me the other services and stuff they offer as well. They didn’t try to push anything. They were just informative. I am very happy with their service and their price. I would grade them A’s across-the-board.

They have been doing the annual inspection of my air-conditioning unit for three years.  I signed up for it and bought it as a package when I had bought the unit.  They are persistent.  I being a snowbird, I am in Oregon most of the times and they would call trying me there, to arrange the time for the inspection.  They keep right on top of things for me.  Everything with them has gone very, very well punctually and their people know what they are talking about.

I won?t recommend them. Their price was very high. They told me that, I needed to have this and that done, and they ended up charging me a lot of money for it. I think they told me to have those done, because they just wanted to make some money out of me. I will not use them again in the future.
