To begin, Ocotillo concrete did not contact Blue Stake, as they should have. As a result, the work was delayed a week while we had to wait for approval to complete the necessary digging leaving our driveway a complete mess. A small portion of an existing wall was damaged, which we didn't notice until the job was complete and final payment was made. Additionally, a portion of the driveway was not completed. When I asked about this, their solution to the missing piece was to simply pour some dirt on that area. I mentioned my dissatisfaction with this in particular when I made the payment, but they did not contact me. I paid another contractor to do this as well as repair the damage they made to the wall. I would not use them again, nor would I recommend their services.

Prompt and professional. No problems what so ever. Vendor did not attempt to raise the bid upon completion as other contractors normally do.

They did two jobs for me. The first was to pour a foundation for my barn. This required a precise layout of the foundation since the barn was prefabricated at the factory. Ocotillo did an excellent job. It has been over a year and the foundation is doing great. They also did some additional work preparing the stalls on a time and materials basis. They were a pleasure to work with. Nine months later I had them pour my patio extension. Another great job that still looks good a year later.

Ocotillo's bid was midway between 3 bidders. One was too low, concerned about that; the other was too high, had extra stuff in that I didn't want. Sean Hamm bid my job properly following my requirements and was very professional. Bid was emailed to me promptly, after a change that he re-bid very reasonably, I accepted. Then it took a long time to get them out here (far east side) to get the work done... about 3 months.I did tell him I was in no hurry, so that is largely my fault, but still...
After finally getting me on the schedule, they showed up exactly on time, went right to work and had the old asphalt removed and off-site in a few hours followed up by a couple of hours of prep work. Next day they were back with the perfectly choreographed concrete delivery (3 loads) starting early in the morning. Basic work was done in 4 hours; 3 finishers continued work for another 4 hours. My wife and I had to laugh because they looked like they were trying to outdo one another for a perfect finish... they kept checking out and comparing each others' work. Needless to say the final product was flawless. Amazing attention to detail. End product exceeded my expectation. I've got an RV pad that I'm going to have them do next year for sure. Highly recommended and I'm sure they'll respond better to a specific schedule.

It was a really good experience. They were very responsive. Both owners came out for the estimate. When I decided to use them, they started the work within a few days. The work was finished in half a day and they worked very neatly. I could tell that they had worked together for many years and they were all extremely skilled in the service. They accommodated any of my requests, even ones I changed at last minute. They used their expertise to help me make decisions on the work. I worked very well with them and they were all very nice.

Hands down, one of the best construction crews I have encountered in 30 years of construction. Extremely professional and efficient crew, a pleasure to have on-site. Everyone on their crew has been working for Ocotillo for over 20 years. Their field supervisor, Mike, is also very professional and attentive to detail. There was a problem with the sealer they used, but they came out and took care of it at no charge. Very highly recommended.

The standard wedge curbing was destroying the front faring of my car. After fighting my HOA for almost a year, the approval was finally granted. I selected OCOTILLO CONCRETE based on my personal set of matrix requirements.
Two workers showed up on a Saturday to cut the existing concrete. Then on Monday they all showed up at 7am, with several workers and construction equipment. They removed the original curbing and apron, lowered it from a 6" reveal to a 3" reveal (approved by a Civil PE). The party was over by 11am except the lone worker who perfected the the finishing touches for hours afterwards.
The crew was friendly and professional. OCOTILLO CONCRETE is a first rate outfit and I highly recommend them.
We even overcame a minor booby trap my original (2nd rate) home builder left for us.
The cost I provided included everything, including the tax.

Mike and Sean are great as are the guys they hire. They got to the job promptly after I signed the estimate. The cleaned up very nicely and their laborers were great guys as well. I would definitely use them again. I almost gave a B on price because they were a little higher than the other estimates I got but it was worth it.

What a job, to remove a thick, 8" slab from our garage floor so we could return the garage into a garage, instead of living space. The pros knew exactly what to do and the results were terrific. The garage is back (as soon as the garage door is replaced). Then two separate patios in the back of the house were connected by a new slab so now we have a single, connected patio. Again, very professional from the start and excellent results. Finally, one of the existing patios had some poorly installed tile, which they removed right now to the original concrete surface so now we can install new tile over the completed total patio.
From the start, professional service, great results, all promises kept. Thanks Sean and Mike, and crew. We're 100% satisfied and found the cost to be reasonable.

They were fantastic. We talked to several people and we got estimates for concrete and asphalt. Ocotillo told us where they were currently working so we went to look at it, and it didn?t cause any problems when we made changes while they were doing the work. The price was outstanding compared to other quotes that we received. Our neighbors have commented on it and we are very happy with the work. We asked them why they got a B- for the Better Business Bureau and they said it was because they were not a member. I liked the quality of their work, I like that they did it in a timely manner, I like that they informed us of the small issues that they had to negotiate, and I absolutely love the price. They communicated well, they kept us informed about things, they did the work in a timely manner, they did exactly what they said they were going to do, and they were able to do adjustments when we asked. We asked them to switch from smooth to exposed concrete after they started pouring and they switched with no problem. Their work was just tremendous.

They worked well to get the job done and they did a good job. Their price was fine. I am planning to use them in the future.

If you had a grade category higher than "A", I would give it to Ocotillo Concrete. The personnel were prompt and professional. They started the work at 7AM on Monday and the job was finished in the afternoon of Wednesday, a total of slightly less than three days. I want to comment on each of the people I had contact with. Sean, the owner, made the estimate and scheduled the work. In addition, he later checked on the progress. He was professional and courteous, and he obviously has a well managed company with high employee morale. Attaboy, Sean. Mike, the foreman (?), was on scene almost all the time ensuring that the work went as planned. He was courteous, professional and maintained good contact with the customer. He is a large credit to the company. Keep it up, Mike. (There were three other workers whose names I might have reversed.) One was the worker who did the initial site prep and his assistant whose name I did not get. The site prep guy was either Enrique or Vicente. His work was in keeping with the overall outstanding quality of the finished product. Congratulations on having him as an employee. And for the concrete finishing worker - either Vicente or Enrique - this man is an artist with concrete. I stayed on scene watching him work almost the whole day, not because I was concerned about his workmanship, but simply because it was such a pleasure to see a real craftsman at work who so obviously loves his material and his craft. Don't let this guy get away from you! In summary - there is no way I could be more pleased with the result.

Absolutely punctual from start to finish. Crack crew with setting anchor bolts and tie-downs. Flexibility with regard to control joints, hand troweling vs. machine finish.

They provided consultation for questions and my learning about the process. They provided the work they said they would and stayed close to the scheduled indicated. The only delays were caused by weather or other pre-scheduled projects delayed by weather (minor delays of a few days from their projected start date). The finished floor was to have score joints and Sean helped come up with a creative spacing for a scoring pattern for the floor layout. I'm very happy with the quality, performance, and professionalism that they provided. They were cost effective, and better priced than others. They have an excellent reputation among my contractor friends. They helped make the process enjoyable. They were very helpful in coming to the project with the information I needed to make good decisions. Sean made recommendations that reduced my costs. Plan ahead for they may have about 1-2 months of work scheduled prior to a project.
