We strive to understand each customer's needs & preferences, so we provide only cost-effective, pleasant service--before, during & after the move. We never need to make a "haymaker profit" from one customer to make up for losing money on another customer. All proposals & transactions are handled electronically, so each customer receives a concise proposal promptly via email. We use electronic billing (we accept all major credit/debit card types) so every transaction is fully documented & time-stamped for accuracy & convenience. Employees are eager to serve a diverse set of needs. MoveMeDC's 650-point continuous training program ensures that every team is comprised of seasoned, trained, insured moving professionals.

I called Move Me DC because I had hired them a year before for my move, and while the move was done very well I realized that the company does not have its own crew but subcontracts other companies. I wanted to hire a company directly, but since I was in a tight position in terms of timing I called Greg hoping he can help me out. Greg is a very positive guy and very polite. He immediately started working on organizing a crew for my move and, sure enough, I had a crew of four with a big truck waiting by my house at 8 AM on Saturday.

The move went well and I was done by 5 PM that day. I now trust that Greg is the guy to turn to when you need to move.

The people who moved us were very friendly and hardworking, but the estimate was not accurate. The move was grossly underestimated. We were quoted something like three hours of work when it ended up taking them almost twelve hours.

It was excellent. Joe and Brian deserve to be commended, they came to my apartment and not only packed up my items but volunteered to take out stuff that I was throwing away including a chair and other things.

MovemeDC was billed as an efficient and cost-effective alternative to other moving companies. Based on my experience, they were not overly expensive and the guys worked hard. But that's about all the good I can say. They showed up with about a 10 foot truck, which did not fit all of our stuff. They had clearly underestimated the amount of stuff we had, despite my repeated admonitions that we had very large furniture and lived in a 1000 square foot apartment that was pretty full. My wife and I have had to make 3 trips back to the apartment to gather the stuff left behind. And we still have another trip or two to go. The movers themselves worked well when they were there, and we definitely appreciated their hard work. But I'd hesitate to call them "professional movers" that can handle a tough job. For example, we have a very large dresser that admittedly is heavy. I knew it would require some work to get it up the stairs. Rather than thinking through the best way to do it, though, the guys just brought it in and started shoving it up the stairs one step at a time (rather than using proper leverage or other moving techniques). The result: multiple dents on the dresser, an otherwise beautiful Camden dresser from Restoration Hardware. I would not recommend this moving company to anyone that wants to use movers that can handle a difficult move efficiently and effectively. I would recommend them for smaller moves, e.g. if you just have a bed and a few other pieces to move, because I thought the movers worked hard, were friendly and honest, and were respectful of my wife and I. Finally, I'll note that I relied on Angie's list reviews to select MoveMeDC. I doubt that all of the reviews submitted are "unbiased" reports. Please think critically about this moving company.

Greg is very friendly and helpful on the phone. He helped us to estimate what was in the condo and how long it would take. He was very flexible and understanding in helping to navigate scheduling a move during the week of the blizzard in DC. The two men who did the actual moving showed up early and made all of the arrangements with the loading dock and service elevator. They worked efficiently and were very professional and courteous. We had everything boxed but they helped us to professionally wrap some breakable items and antique furniture. At the move destination there are stairs, but the guys handled it well. Our belongings arrived in good condition, with only a few scratches from wear and tear. The estimate was accurate for the length of time worked and I appreciated that they billed for the exact amount of time and were definitely not napping in the truck or anything! They were very hard workers.

Great service. The company has experience with artistic items and other objects that need special handling. The crews were friendly and because of the value of some of my wife's belongings the owner of the company came by to ensure they were handled properly. Responsive scheduling and good service.

The two movers called about 10 minutes before their scheduled delivery to let me know they were on their way. They arrived maybe 10 minutes late. They examined what needed to be moved and safely transported everything using boxes and quilts they had on hand. They even encouraged me to pack more things and provided boxes and tape for some shoes I'd plan to come back for later. They two movers were phenomenal - professional and jovial. Nothing was damaged and they even helped me to protect my floors by installing felt pads I'd purchased on the feet of all the furniture before bringing it into the house.
