Old galvinized line was badly corroded, restricting water flow. Had to dig through very hard desert ground. Rafael Ramirez, owner, made assessment and suggested 1" copper at each end since we had need for a ground at house connection and then 1 1/4" PVC for the rest. He, also, said he would install a locator wire for the entire length so line could be found by Blue Stake. Company did excellent work. All hands were knowledgeable and good workers. Even with major problems - like Blue Stake not marking a major gas line (causing a two hour delay and a reroute of dig) and extra hard ground - they had the trench dug and the old line removed and new line installed and working in one day. Second day they placed bedding sand around pipes, back filled trench and hauled off the broken asphalt and excess rock/dirt. Price was higher than estimate because of the extra time to dig through the hard soil. Original price was $2508.00
Description of Work: Installed 200 feet of new water line from meter to house. Replaced old 3/4" galvinized pipe with 1 1/4 inch PVC and ten feet of 1" copper at both ends. Installed new cutoff valve for house; ground wire to copper pipe at house; and locator wire over entire pipe run from house to meter. After piping was installed they would place bedding sand around the pipes for protection and then back fill. Mr. Ramirez was only bidder to display confidence in doing the job and made many suggestions about how to do it best. His price was also the lowest and ability to handle the job quickly was a big plus. Others would have cost thousands more and not start for a month or so.
