I interviewed seven local landscapers and chose McBride to remove the old lawn and put in new turf. About 1000 sq ft.
I told all seven landscapers about the weeds and fungus. McBride said he would make sure the fungus was treated. I asked what would happen if I had any problems with the new turf. He said, "I will make things right."
Soon after the new turf was put in McBride said my sprinkler system was not adequate. He seemed to blame me and said I had not told him I had low water pressure. I checked the pressure and it was fine. McBride said he may have to put in a new sprinkler system, but at the last minute he decided to just install new heads for an extra $400.00.
Weeks later mushrooms appeared everyware in the new turf. McBride came to check and said I was watering too much, even though it was set to water by him. I removed all the mushrooms. A week after the water was cut back brown patches appeared every where. The patches were the same as I had in my old lawn. McBride was contacted. He said I was watering too little, the water was still set where he put it.
I called the turf farm and was told it was not their problem. I called another landscaper, B and R Landscaping, who came out and charged me $45.00 to tell me it was the fungus that had returned.
I called McBride who said, "I don't have time to babysit you." I have not heard from him again.
I tried treating the fungus as recommende by B and R. Despite everything I did I have a dead lawn and am out $2720.00.
