LOWE'S

Everything was good. I would use them again.

Purchased a security door.  Nearly impossible to set up the installation.  Finally after weeks of trying to contact the installer, who lost our phone number, he showed up to install the door.  I wasn't here for the appointment but when I got home, my wife was in tears.

The door was improperly installed. There are gaps, no weather stripping, lots of places for bugs to get in the house!  What's worse, the installer spoke to my wife in a patronizing, sexist way.  She is a college educated black woman and rather sensitive about these issues.  She felt it might have been a substance abuse issue.

Three days later, Lowe's sent another installer.  He was shocked at how poorly the first job was done.  But he fixed it.  

Lowe's will be offering us some kind of financial compensation.

I like that they had availability of parts. Their prices were competitive with anybody. You have to hunt somebody down.

The service was good with the reps at the store being very nice and professional. The flooring company called promptly to schedule the estimate and were on time to the appointment. The store gave me quotes per the square foot for the demo, installation, etc. I was extremely surprised when the estimate came back greater than 100% more than expected. I took the quoted numbers from the store and applied them to my measurements which came out to just over $7,000. When the quote came back at just over $14,000 I was shocked. A contractor I had used before (who did excellent work) quoted $12,000 including services not provided by lowes to including lots of drywall repair, tiling an additional room and leveling the sub-flooring. I will not be using Lowe's for this service. Additionally, they charge for the estimate so if you don't use their service you lose out.

Great selection of carpet in the store. We were helped almost immediately upon entering the department to look. A lady named and quot;Charleyand quot; assisted us in our purchase. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. She represented Lowe's and the products there very well. After the purchase, the customer service department called us numerous times to check in on the installation arrangements, to see if there were questions, etc... It was an excellent experience purchasing from Lowe's and I'll do it again.
