I loved the finished product.  The wood matched my other cabinents, the pull out drawers held all my pans and my 2 flateware drawers were huge and perfect also.   I love how easy it is to get my mixer out so I can use it.  This counter/cabinentry was about 10 feet long and about 40 inch high.  If I needed any more woodworking done and I call this company in a blink of an eye.  I was so impressed that I still can remember my opinion of them. I have never had a problem of any kind with this cabinentry.

I am a very particular and demanding customer. Over the last couple of years, I visited most of the high end show rooms of the so called "custom cabinetry" companies in Tucson and even a few in Phoenix. After consulting Angie's List, I selected one of the fancy showroom companies in Tucson to give me a quote. I also requested Kim Kristensen to give me a quote, because I wanted to get a quote from a real cabinet maker even though I expected his cost to be much higher. The difference between the two companies became obvious during the first meeting with each. I had very specific ideas of what I wanted, but the fancy showroom company had significant limitations as to cabinet size and shape. Several times they said they could not do what I wanted or there would be a significant up charge. Two items in particular that I required were a 4' x 8' pantry, and a 4' under counter cabinet with stainless steel shelves. The fancy showroom company could not do the pantry at all and could only do the 4' under counter cabinet in two 2' cabinets. They said I would have to find a third party to do the steel shelves. Their initial quote was based on these and other severe limitations to my plan. When Kim Kristensen came to my house, the process was totally different! Not one time did he say he couldn't do what I wanted, or that there would be an "upcharge." Kim is a craftsman and, when faced with an unusual request, he immediately becomes a problem solver. He actually builds all the cabinets. He doesn't order them on the internet as most of the so called "custom" cabinet companies do. Kim's initial quote was based on all the things I wanted, exactly as I wanted them, and was less than the competitor's quote that didn't include all the things I wanted. Dealing with Kim was one of the most enjoyable things I have ever done! He is such a fine craftsman and perfectionist that he continually made adjustments even where I did not notice any were needed. The cabinets are as close to perfect as possible to do. They even exceeded my very high expectations! The cabinet boxes were constructed of all maple veneer plywood with gorgeous lyptus wood doors, some with glass panel inserts. All drawers and rollouts are Blum Tandembox. All doors, drawers and rollouts are softclose. All upper cabinets are 48" high and 14" deep (a significant upcharge from the other company!) In other words, everything is the absolute best quality available and exactly the way I wanted it. Even with all that, I believe that I saved between $10,000 and $15,000 over the much bigger and better known company that couldn't even provide everything I wanted. To say that I wholeheartedly recommend Kristensen Woodworking is an understatement! I would never consider using anyone else.

I found Kim's shop after doing an internet search on cabinetry and custom cabinet makers. After visiting it and meeting Kim, having interviewed several designers, including internet designers, I hired Kim. His workmanship was phenomenal. The dovetails on his drawers were so smooth you couldn't feel them when you ran your fingers across the drawer faces. I was sold. Even better was Kim himself. He checked every detail, twice. He showed great knowledge of his craft, he was enthusiastic. He obviously cared about the quality of his work and it showed. When he ran into a problem, he communicated that immediately so we were never left wondering. Once the cabinets were installed, which Kim does himself, the final look was simply stunning! All the drawers and doors have soft-close hinges, the cabinets are and quot;framelessand quot;, meaning that the doors do not have a frame front divider between the doors and all the space inside is useable.

Long story short. Kim Kristensen is the best cabinetmaker in town. Every detail was attended to, the result is an exceptionally cook-friendly, beautiful space. Thanks Kim!

No problems at all on time even worked on Saturday just to stay ahead in case of other issues.

THEY WORKED GREAT WITH THE OTHER WORKERS THAT WERE AT THE HOUSE. THEY DID FANTASTIC WORK. THEY WERE GREAT TO WORK WITH. WE WILL HAVE THEM DO WORK AGAIN IF NEEDED.
