Some pool service companies were either slow to respond or failed to respond to inquiries. An acquaintance recommended Gary and we called him and he responded immediately. we met and evaluated our pool and he explained how the equipment worked (we are new pool owners) and what he would do to maintain our pool. We also had a rail and ladder installed and Gary made it easy with off-hours delivery of brochure, completing the order for us and final installation. Perfect! Gary is very upbeat and laid-back at the same time. We were very comfortable with his many years of knowledge and he worked very hard to help us understand and feel comfortable with owning a pool and understanding the equipment. Gary and his crew are very respectful, punctual and courteous. I would highly recommend them to either new pool owners or someone who has "had it" with their current pool service company.

We have used Gary's Pool Service for about the last four years. The first three were OK, but in the last year performance has gone down. In October 2012, they must have left the pool water running for days when we were away because our water bill was $200 over average for the month. Even though they finally admitted doing that and telling me three times they would take care of it and pay the extra, they never have. This year, it was noticed the pool was overflowing again, but the water got shut off quicker without a significant increase in the water bill. There has also been a leak in one of the valves and they have tried to fix it, but have been unsuccessful. There is also a leak in the filter housing just before the pump. Water either flows out of the leak, or the pump sucks in air, causing it to cavitate and water circulation is cut off. The pump then runs extremely hot. I have had to use duct tape to stop this leaking and have called another pool company to replace these bad parts.
The pool has also not been nearly as clean this year as in the past. The chemicals have not been kept up adequately and algae is frequently growing on the sides. Our son and his family come over on weekends to use the pool and have recently found it at times to be dirty and unusable. Even though we pay $145 a month to have the pool serviced twice a week, it appears either that is not being done, or that the two days of service are not evenly spread out over the week.
When I told Gary the service was being terminated, he said that was OK by him because the pool was too hard to clean anyway.

At Gary's it took some time before the bookeeper picked up on the new account so there was period of a few months when there was a little confusion in the beginning. The individual who actually did the work was excellent and he kept the pool very clean.

We initially called them to take care of our pool while we were away, and they did an excellent job. In fact, they are still coming on a weekly basis, long after we returned to town. If they find any kind of problem, they immediately contact us, rather than just let it go. We are very satisfied.

They are terrific. I gave them a key so they can just come in and do the work. I had been using someone else and I called Gary when something wasn’t working on a weekend. He came out immediately with two guys, they got everything fixed, they cleaned the pool, and his rate was phenomenal for everything they had done. After that, I called the other service and told them I didn’t want them anymore. They come when they are supposed to and they do a great job. Their price is higher than the other company I was using but they do a better job.

Everything has been wonderful. They are very friendly, and they have good communication. When I first bought my home it was out of probate so I was sure there would be problems with the pool--he assured me it was actually in perfect condition. He not only performed the maintenance for me, but also showed me how to do it myself so I would not be totally dependent on him. He showed me how to work everything, and pointed out where some of the equipment was worn and would need to be replaced.
