"Good Morning [Member Name Removed], I am unable to find your account. Could you please call into the office at (480)941-1313 and ask for myself so that we can get this taken care of. Thank you Jeremy Williams"
I don't have a problem paying for good service and he was prompt, assessed the situation and provided me with options, albiet an incomplete amount of information to make the best choice. He cleaned up after himself and explained everything to me about the installationand usage of the new system. The price includes two additional years of warranty over the 1 year manufacturers warranty so if anything goes wrong in the first three years, I'm covered. I think it said a 10 year warranty on parts as well if I'm reading that right.
So if you want a no muss, no fuss solution that you don't mind paying through the nose for, I can recommend Precision Door Service. He graciously said he'd use my old sensors to fix the other side which was not working and he said he did. But it doesn't seem to work now, so either the sensor was not the issue or something went wrong. I do think he closed it while I was present and it worked, but now it doesn't. When we get ready to replace the other door, we will try another option. Since we could have practically replaced both doors for what we paid the one I feel like I did not make the best decision. Forewarned is forearmed.
Although I really have no idea what a standard cost for such a repair should be (and he commented that he was giving me a $100 discount/ waiving the service visit fee, and that his company did not charge extra for weekends), I did still feel that the price was a bit high for the amount of labor and time required (I had a licensed electrician out for an electrical short / power outage) the prior night WELL after hours, who worked for more than double the amount of time, including a difficult diagnostic work up and repair , at a cost of barely over half of the cost of this garage door repair visit...but maybe this is not a reasonable comparison)...
Nonetheless, the response was quick, the repair got done in a thorough and timely fashion and that is a really good thing....especially on a holiday weekend.
Might consider trying another highly rated provider in the future, but would not rule out coming back to this one.
The work was completed quickly and efficiently, and we received a 15% AAA discount as advertised. When the work was completed, the doors operate much quieter than they did before, which I now know is because the new springs are perfectly counterbalancing the weight of the doors, so the garage door opener motors do not have to work nearly as hard. To his credit, the technician did not try to sell us anything we didn't need, rather, he explained things very well, told us what the alternatives and risks were, and accepted our decisions.
Most people don't give their garage door a second thought, yet a spring failure could easily cause injury or death under certain circumstances. By spending the money now to have all of the springs replaced, we have greatly reduced the chance that a spring failure will occur for many years to come.
