Wonderfully! Ecosense did some earthworks to naturally direct water to the existing trees. In addition, they installed an irrigation system which will be used to establish the plants we will put in during phase two. Ecosense is professional, courteous and efficient. I cannot say enough good things about Ecosense!

I interviewed two bidders for the project; I chose EcoSense Landscaping not only because they were recommended by Zona Gardens (the designer), but because Eli Nielsen, the owner, was the more responsive communicator--even though his was not the lower bid.
Eli subcontracted some of the work, billed separately: the steel pathway edging (Drake Built Projects LLC, $960), and the removal and stump grinding of two Rhus lancea trees (Catalina Tree Service, $600).
Eli took us shopping for boulders, and sent us to a second place to shop on our own for the flagstones and decomposed granite for the pathways, and the crushed rock for one of yards that was being converted from a grass lawn--all of which were subsequently delivered on schedule.
Eli himself found, purchased, and had delivered all the plants that the landscaping plans called for.
Eli and his crew of usually five helpers arrived on schedule at 6 a.m. for four straight days: removing vegetation, digging trenches, installing irrigation and electric lines, and planting plants--often using a jackhammer to dig the planting holes, a totally new experience for me.
The crew worked efficiently until about 2 p.m. every day--what a major job, and they were constantly busy.
Eli scheduled the final two days of work at the end of the following week, so that the construction activities would not interfere with house guests we were entertaining. Final installation of lighting in the mesquite tree will be done now that the tree has finally been pruned, and one plant that didn't make it will be replaced (all plants come with a 90-day survival guarantee).
We are delighted with the finished project! The "Timeless Beauty" Desert Willow and "Gold Star" Yellow Bells are already blooming, along with many of the other smaller plants and succulents. The formerly dead lawn has been replaced with Santa Fe Rose crushed rock with a steel-edged flagstone path meandering through it, the accent lighting is gorgeous, the irrigation system is working fine, and the vegetable garden already has peppers ready to harvest and radishes flourishing.
We believe that we have made a great investment in our home, and heartily recommend Eli Nielsen and EcoSense Landscaping for their high degree of professionalism, expertise, and efficiency.

Eli, the owner, came up with a plan to help our yard look better and to reduce our water bills. He had many creative ideas to update our yard. The crew came on time and were totally professional. Our yard looks great.

Eli is an expert communicator: clear, responsive, positive, and knowledgeable. We took three bids on our project and
the pricing was similar. We chose Eli because he responded quickly to our calls and questions and we sensed hewould stick with the project until all the details have been done. We are very pleased with our choice and Eli has excelled in many ways; here are a few:
- He?s a good manager and his team is capable, courteous, and hard working
- He has developed - and uses to a full extent - industry partners (e.g., designers, arborists, etc.)
- He is knowledgeable and takes continuing education courses to advance his expertise
- He willingly and ably developed a new working relationship with a steel crafter who we'd hired to build a new fence along our property; this work was happening simultaneously with the landscape installation.
- As Eli prepared the yard for the new landscape, we found that the original conduit for low voltage lighting was broken and
corroded. We had to bring in an electrician and this change the sequencing of the work. Eli was adept and flexible; he both
changed his schedule and took on additional work that was necessary for laying new conduit.
- He has stayed with the project through the "punch list" and willingly answers questions about how to maintain these plants
(I am a novice with desert plants)
We will use Eli again!
