DON'S POOL SERVICE

Provider was unreliable and unreasonably expensive.  Would not recommend.

Don inherited the business from his father, whose pool service company had been highly recommended.
Don, himself, is a very nice young guy. He behaves as an aggressive businessman, seems energetic, is quite personable. 
He seems to have handled the business finances reasonably responsibly; no real complaints.
And when something has gone terribly wrong, like a major piece of pool pump or filtering equipment, he has seemed responsive, has done the repairs/replacements, in a timely manner.
But for continual, regular service Don, himself , and the company itself (which I gather is his family, especially his cousin, with an occasional assist from his retired father) have been, unfortunately, lackadaisical. They miss regular weekly visits. Don says he'll be there on Mondays and one week doesn't show up at all, the next week shows up Thursday, etc.  
When he is called on any of this, he is apologetic, has what seem legitimate excuses (broke his wrist, was away on vacation, had his irresponsible cousin filling in, got called away for emergency work by another customer, etc.). But, from a customer's perspective, it all became quite tiresome. 

I am absolutely certain that this business can thrive. Don is customer-centered, is a good guy, and a competent worker. He inherited a business and seems entirely capable of running and growing it. But he is struggling, and this customer, for now, has concluded that we are not going to wait for maturation to set in. We might reconsider down the road, because we have faith in Don's integrity and desire to make this business work. But, being relative newcomers to pool ownership, we just need consistency without worry or periodic concern, and we haven't found Don's Pool Service to do that entirely satisfactorily. 

My pool looks good. My pool is cleaned once a week. Chemicals are added as needed.
