Desert Solar Designs

Many years ago Desert Solar Design installed our home solar water heating system and they were a wonderful company with which to work. However, recent experiences indicate they have gone down hill. They didn't return initial calls for repair, their scheduled technician didn't show up the first time, and they never called to let us know and when they did show up they checked the temperature at the sensor and tank and said "everything was ok" and replaced the foam insulation surrounding the pipe without diagnosing the cause. On their invoice, they claim to have done a complete system check which did not occur. The technician never checked the panel on the roof and spent 20 minutes at the house. Some weeks later the motor burned out and could have sparked a fire, which fortunately did not happen. I called another company who did a complete check and found a faulty check valve on the collector on the roof and actually did a complete system check. There were also billing problems with Desert Solar. Do not use them--it was the most expensive piece of pipe insulation I have ever had to pay for!
