Desert Diesel

Desert Diesel is top-notch. I had my truck tow to them after I pressure oil leak developed. they where quick and reasonably priced. after I picked up the truck it stopped running 70+ miles away. I had the truck towed to another shop and called Desert Diesel. their response "was we want that truck back here" Desert Diesel towed my truck over 50 miles in order to stand by their work!. come to find out it was a bad battery connection and not related to the work they did with my truck. it is hard these days to find a shop that will stand by their work. thank you, guy!

My experience with him was excellent. He knew what the problem was and fixed it when he said he was going to fix it. Everything was good.

I can handle most of my own service on my truck but when time gets tight or I need more service than I want to do, I always turn to desert diesel. This guy is an absolutely no bull$hit, retired marine. He will tell it to you as straight as it comes. He doesn't add on crap you don't need and will even tell you that what you might want to have done doesn't need to be done. He's been doing this for years so he knows diesels frontwards and backwards and his mechanics know that no bs is allowed. Support a vet, this guy deserves it.

Second generation Dodge Ram diesels like mine are known for steering issues (see TurboDieselRegister aka TDR for the gory details), so when mine needed attention I knew there were lots of after market parts available to and quot;fixand quot; the problem but had no idea which ones were best. I learned about Frank at Desert Diesel from satisfied customers on TDR and went there. As soon I said and quot;sloppy steeringand quot; he nodded and took a short drive. He has had plenty of experience with the issue and said a remanufactured factory box of an improved design would work just fine. He did that installation and the truck doesn't drive like new, it drives much better than new. The second thing I asked about was the truck beginning to run warmer than usual in hot weather with the A/C on, causing the viscous drive fan to come on. Frank knew that these trucks came from the factory with a crankcase breather tube that dumped oil fumes directly behind the radiator where they could coat the fins and ruin the heat transfer. I had relocated the breather tube at 60K miles, but did not clean the radiator fins. Frank had the whole thing pressure washed and flushed the coolant. Problem solved. Bottom line is that Frank knows diesel trucks inside out and can be trusted to recommend services that will solve problems at the best cost to you.

This provider is always on top of their game - he's a retired marine - there are no and quot;formerand quot; marines. He knows diesels inside and out. I simply take it over when I'm going out of town and it's ready when I get back. Price is not really an issue because the new diesels are so technical and complex that only really qualified persons can work on them and they should only have premium fueld.
