I was a Dakotacom customer for many years. Their service was reasonably priced, tech support was always helpful, even with stupid questions. When they were bought out by another company, the quality of their support went down a little, but tech support hours were expanded; someone always answered the phone or called back within a couple of hours, and was able to fix the problem. We no longer have Dakotacom because we moved to another part of town that they do not service. I sorely miss them since we had to go with one of the national companies with pricey service and non-existant tech support.
Description of Work: Dakotacom was our internet service provider for many, many years.

Their tech support answers quickly via phone or email and speak English and know their stuff. They also answer dumb questions without actually pointing out how dumb the questions are! I appreciate that. Today I was helping someone try to set up an email account with Qwest (Hint: it's almost impossible to do) and got so frustrated by the wait times and thick accents of the tech people - who had no clue in any language - that I called Dakotacom and they told me quickly and accurately how to set up the account. Remember, I was setting this up for someone who was not even their customer. If you want a good ISP and one where you can use Outlook as your email client instead of the web based stripped down models, then I'd go with Dakotacom.
Description of Work: Dakotacom is my ISP provider - and has been for many, many years - with my DSL link through Qworst (AKA Qwest). I pay $25 a month for a local company with local workers who actually speak English as their first language. I think this amounts to about $60 a year more than going with the big companies, but it's worth every penny and more.
