We had a couple of different people for different things, one to straighten a few things up and another to add a few programs. They spent a lot more time than I wanted them too. They had put some program in and said it would have to run, which they waited to finish and it took a lengthy amount of time.

With a recommendation from a neighbor, I drove 20 miles one way (40 minutes) to buy a new computer (emergency need). I bought a custom floor model computer that had many good features, such as a dual core processor and many USB ports. However, from the start the USB ports on the front has shorted out the computer (i.e., it goes dead when any USB device touches the ports; still does to this day). The computer crashes constantly, and the error message says it is a hardware and not a software problem. I took the computer back, indicated the problem, and the tech checked my warranty before he would even talk to me. He then looked at it. I waited on that side of town and came back; he said he couldn't really find any problems. I took it home and it immediately crashed again and again and again. I continued to use the computer, avoiding the USB ports in question, but the computer began to crash with a and quot;blue screenand quot; again and again and again. When I called RC back they pretty much indicated they were not interested in looking at it, saying my warranty was weak. I took it to another shop closer by and they looked at it (for another $130) and they could not fix. Still defective. Still crashes.

At first, I was disappointed in the time estimate--they wouldn't be able to start my job for almost a week. But that turned out to be a conservative estimate and actual service was started the next day and finished promptly. They were good about keeping the customer advised on price at each stage, about explaining the options at different junctures, discussing what were reasonable investments to make in a computer the make, age, and condition of mine. If and quot;totalingand quot; the computer was appropriate, they didn't just steer the customer to a new one, but suggested some less expensive re-furbished used ones to consider also. Fulfilling customer needs in a quality manner at least cost appeared to be a focus of service. Overall, they were pleasant and professional and certainly seemed knowledgeable. I also appreciated the staff's efficiency and the fact they have a broad practice and are not reps for just one hardware firm.

My old computer crashed- would not boot. I took it to Computer Renaissance for repair. It took five working days for them to get to it. When they did, they determined that the mother board was beyond repair, and that I needed to buy a new computer. I looked around at the box stores for a new PC, and didn't find anything that I thought was of high quality- something that would last for years and support all my needs. I decided to buy the PC from Computer Renaissance. It was a bit pricey, but does not have the look or feel of a mass produced, cost-driven product.
Computer Renaissance did an outstanding job of transferring the files on my old machine to the new machine and easing my transition from the old computers operating system to the new.

They did very well and at a very good price for that type of thing. We had same problem about six months ago with the same computer and went to an establishment who is out of business now and they charged twice than this provider and they also did a better job than them.

The guy asked me if I wanted to backup my files and I told them no and just to go ahead and reinstall, but he did it. He backed it up and put them back on my computer for me anyway and didn't charge me for it, which was supposed to be something like $60. I was really surprised that he did it for free and I was pretty happy about that. Their price was reasonable. Their quality is excellent.

It went very well. My computer was getting older and they helped me come to the conclusion that it was time to upgrade.

THEY DID A COMPLETE OVERHAUL ON OUR COMPUTER BUT DID NOT HAVE TO REPLACE ANY PARTS. WE WERE VERY GRATEFUL TO HAVE IT WORKING SO WELL FOR SO LITTLE. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM FOR ANY COMPUTER JOB YOU HAVE.
