I brought my 96 Taurus in for its summer checkup.
Mitch checked everything I requested, found nothing
that needed servicing, and charged me NOTHING.
That's why I take my car to Auto Specialists.

Everything went smoothly: mechanic started at scheduled time (8:30 am) and finished work
on my car at 5:00 pm. They loaned me a courtesy car so I could drive home and not have
to wait around for my car to be fixed. Auto Specialists have worked exclusively on my car
(a 1996 Ford Taurus with 34000 miles) for several years, and I have always been completely
satisfied.

Brion, was a pleasure to work with. He evaluated my car and gave me a few options. The shop is very professional and well priced. I have been taking my cars here for the past 8+ years. A+

When the air condioner in my vehicle stopped blowing cold air, I took it into Automotive Specialists to be repaired. Since the vehicle is 17 years old and had never had the refrigerant recharged plus when it quit working it happened so suddenly, I suspected a large refrigerant leak. They were unable to find the leak and recharged the system. When I asked if they added the blue dye to the refrigerant to make leak detection easier, the affirmed they had done so. I drove off and the air conditioner started blowing hot air the next day. Mitch, who I dealt with throughout, acted as though he had eaten something disagreeable.
I decided to look for the leak myself and it was not hard to find. A mount on the refrigerant condenser in front of the radiator had broken and the flexing allowed one of the lines to break. There was no blue dye present, but the oil from the refrigerant system was hard to miss. I took it elsewhere to be repaired.

He charged us a large amount for the diagnostic test which many do for no charge. He also replaced a small inexpensive part. My husband had $200 cash in his pocket and provided it to brian and asked to hold a check until we received a social security check. We had a mortgage payment put in jeopardy because he ended up putting in the check that night. I called him and asked to exchange the previous check for 2 checks to pay at a later date and he said he would do a good deed and help us. Brian then agreed and when I went to the shop, I provided 2 checks and said please cash one at one time and the other the following month. We then had to go to the bank to put a stop charge on the check, because he did end up putting it in, although he originally promised he would hold it. I am now making payments to pay this debt off for a diagnostic check that was very high in price. I think he took advantage of us, as we called other mechanics who said they would never charge such a high amount for the diagnostic.
