About us

Arizona Pool Restoration is family owned and operated by CartGuys Inc. ROC 209073 since 1995. We offer Pool repair, Pool/Tile Cleaning, and Pool Service including new plaster and pebble tech installation by authorized pebble tech installer. Our equipment is cutting edge and "State of the Art". We can use a large variety of media to suit the job, removing calcium lines from swimming pools, spas or water features. OTHER SYSTEMS use harmful glass beads or other grit in water blasters at 4000-5000 psi which mars or scratches the tile where calcium can grow back quickly. Our system is low air pressure at 40-50 psi with a "Soft-Crystal" that is designed to disintegrate on impact. That action is what removes the white build-up at the water line without harming the pool tile, pebble, or plaster surfaces. We also remove pool stains with non-toxic stain removers (unlike harmful "acid wash") with a newly developed technology for cleaning plaster or pebble interiors. Our visit includes a complete water test for our customers, because your water chemistry can contribute to calcium build up. We offer Deck Restoration. We specialize in removing old, damaged cool deck and installing one from many choices of awesome decks that will enhance the beauty of your home.

less the a year after deck painting I had stains that were reappearing and paint on the water fall under the water fall started pealing.

the second time that I contacted them I was told by the owner that he would not continue to warranty this. When I talk to the guys that came to repair the water fall I was told that the deck stains reappeared because the deck was not clear coated. the owner never gave me that option on the first visit instead steered me to the water fall. The guy that came to fix the water fall told me to clear coat the water fall below the water line to stop the paint peeling and now is all white and looks like crap. I had an appointment to clear coat the deck @ additional cost ($1700+$545) and when I contacted the owner about the water fall I got excuses, then called and canceled the appointment to clear coat the deck so now I have to find someone else to repair what they should have taken care of at further cost.

When they first came out they wanted the vacuum to suck the algae; but they were able to add the right chemicals to make it balance. We have been with them since and signed up with them for $99.00. They are reliable. They come out every week and I do not worry about having them out at my house. They skim the pool, brush the walls, they keep the chemicals balanced and makes sure the chlorine is added and every month he cleans the main filers. I also recommend them to others.

The staff was not familiar with my pentair pool pump and unfortunately the man did not adjust the timing/settings as requested 6 months earlier. The staff showed up each week (which is more than I can say for the staff of 1st Choice Pools) Cleanings were done adequately most weeks, but pool was not vacuumed each week. Good service, but not outstanding.

In a word, utterly pointless. I am not going to elaborate, it was just overall lousy.

Service was provided by Aaron. He was extremely polite, professional, cordial and punctual. I had problems for numerous consecutive weeks where the pool had lots of mold growing. They just weren't putting enough chlorine in the feeder. I mentioned this several times to Aaron but there continued to be problems. About half way through the 3 month service he finally started adding more chlorine and the pool started to look better.
The pools was not swept well. There was dirt and mold on quite a few side and bottom surfaces.
I think the problem is that my pool is a little larger than average. Therefore, they needed to use more chlorine and would need to take more time to sweep it properly. While I somewhat understand their position, they should have place size restriction in their and quot;Angie's Big Dealand quot;. I even told Aaron and the owner Jim, that I would be happy to pay extra for additional chlorine and chemicals. They never did charge me extra so I appreciated that.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. I had to call a couple of times to get an appointment. Other than that it went fine. I called and asked for additional information on pool services and they never called me back.

This was a ploy to get people signed up with a monthly service. They didn't want to test the chemicals. What does pool restoration mean if they won't even test the chemicals? With a little prodding, he did it. When you sign up for monthly service, that's when they want to test your chemicals. The technician is very thorough and trustworthy. Been on the job three months now. We had trouble trying to pay with a credit card on PayPal initially, but it finally worked this month.

Wasn't crazy about the explanation for chemicals, If they do not have the chemical the pool needs they would acquire it and charge us additonal for it. What? I thought they were offering us a cleaning and chemical service? Oh, and it will cost extra to really look at the automatic pool filler and to fix it. Didn't really seem interested in providing us a service. Just tried to get in and out quick to make the $45.00 charge worth it for them.

There is a problem with my back wash valve which I've always known about, and actually have been able to maintain myself. Because of this problem the back wash valve sometimes dries out and starts to stick if it's not serviced regularly. I've had others service it for only $60 but they tried to tell me it would be $250 to repair the valve. Because of this back walsh valve not closing properly, I went out of town and came back my pool water level which had sunk about 6 inches, because water was flowing out of the pool. They told me I needed phosphate remover, which basically removes the food algae feeds on. I bought the box of phosphate remover, and added it to the pool. Then a few weeks ago, the guy said we needed to add more. He was telling me there was a problem with my water, but when I went to my nearest pool store and they tested my water they told me it was perfect. They also came out a couple weeks ago and said my three months was already up when in fact I still had 1 month left. And in another instance the guy basically came in and checked the water while I was sitting waiting, he started to head back to his car to leave and I intercepted him. The pool looked awful, and I asked him what he was going to do. He ended up staying another half an hour after I caught him, and I knew he hadn't done what he should've because he stayed the extra half an hour. I called the manager and told him we need to have someone else come out here because it still looks absolutely awful. The manager said sometimes he tries to protect the customer by not recommending the full needs of the pool because he doesn't want to charge any extra fees. I understand why he did that, but basically the point is this guy doesn't know what he's doing. In the past 2+ months (I still have some remaining time left on my service from the deal) the manager only came out just this past week. At no point in the last couple months have I felt that I could get in pool, which is why I bought the deal first place. I could've done a better job myself.

"I apologize for not meeting your expectation. I should have recommended at the beginning that additional visits would be required which would have meant added expense on your part, as the Angie's list "Big Deal" stated. We got our techs together and decided it would be in your best interest to go ahead and spend the extra time, at no charge, to "dig in" to your equipment to find out why your pump and creepy crawly were working poorly. Even though you used another pool company to make the repairs that we diagnosed and recommended, at least now we can make even more progress to make a pool you can be happy with. We hope to win your trust and continue the service for you. Thank Jim"

We were both at work but I had spoken at length to the owner of the company about tile/calcium buildup. I explained it was tough to be home but one of us would be during their service. He explained what they would do, how they could help us in the future, and it all came to pass just as Jim explained.
They called before they came, checked in, got started, and we came home to see the end of the process and approve of their work.
James gave us good tips on maintaining the pool and the process he had completed. They cleaned up well, provided extra documentation, and explained what their weekly pool service could include that varied from our existing service. We plan to switch to Az. Pool for the monthly service to help maintain this new looking pool. We felt confident of their work and appreciated how polite as well as thorough all employees/owner have been.
We also discussed some resortation work of the deck. They will be out to offer a bid. Others I called were way overpriced and truly not all that interested. Thanks to Angies' List our pool will be ready for summer.

We had a lot of calcium buildup at the pool and spa waterline and waterfall. I called a few of the bigger pool companies and they came out and said they couldn't do the job as it would destroy the finish on the tile. Most wanted to replace the tile for approximately $5000. I had little hope of getting the tile cleaned up.
Then Arizona pool restorations came out and they said they could do it for far less than $750. They did the work -- all tile looked new. I am really pleased with the job they did and would recommend them to anyone. I was so pleased I spend another $3500 on pool deck resurfacing, spa ladder installation, and some other work.
They are a father son team and obviously take a lot of pride in their work. This was a very pleasant experience.,

The pool has an approximate 12and quot;x1/2and quot; crack in the Pebbletec lining. Half of of the pool has ceramic tile at the water line. The rest is natural rock and a water fall. The tile and rocks had a substantial build up of minerals from our hard water. We called
several contractors for estimates. Out of 5 called, only 2 contractors returned our calls. Turns out the other contractor did not repair Pebbletec. The prices were comperable (sans Pebbletec repair) and this company seemed to be very knowlegeable when discussing the repair on the phone. They drove out and provided an estimate and suggested start date.
Once we had agreed upon price, tasks and start date we were on our way. They showed up on time, and completed it all in one day. They cleaned up the area after themselves. The workers were informative and professional. We have a dog, and they were mindful to not let the dog loose. I would recommend and use them again.

to avoid the need for cleaning the pool tiles again. James was great about educating us a bit more on how to maintain the proper chemical levels for our pool as we do our own maintenance and pool chemicals.
All in all we are very happy with the quality of work and service provided by Jim and James. I also like supporting a local family company. I would recommend anyone needing pool tile cleaning or repairs to give them a call.

I was looking for a pool company that didn't use coarse sand to clean the calcium off the tile. It was built up pretty thick over the years and I didn't want to have the tile scratched or damaged. I heard of a method that didn't use crystalized sand but a soft gel compound.
I found there add on one of the mailers that come to the home and I called for an est. and Jim was polite on the phone and explained the process they use.
I set up an appointment for the next week and they showed up right on time. The work was completed in 3 hours and included the cleanup and removal of all equiptment.
Before they left they made sure all my questions were answered and suggestions were made to help prevent buildup in the future.
