In short this was a learning experience for me. It's been a long time since I've been treated this badly by a hiree I was willing to spend my hard-earned money on. I give them no stars. A terrible experience for me. Never to step foot in this so-called store again!
"Hi, [removed members name]. I can't find any customer records under the name you've listed here. Please feel free to contact us about this issue. As a rule, we will never charge you for something we cannot repair, in the 15 years I've been in business I've never charged anyone when I cannot fix the problem. Our phone number is 520-304-8300."
Two weeks later I received an email asking if everything were working well. It was.
I have a contract with Arizona Computer Guru for and quot;remote serviceand quot; for a two year period which, for someone with my limited ability to understand how to use the computer for my individual needs, seems to be the best way to get problems solved. When I mentioned to Mike that my hand made keyboarding very difficult, he suggested I look into and quot;Dragonand quot; software and gave me a quick rundown on the different series. His explanation and recommendation has persuaded me to look into getting and quot;Dragonand quot; and making my computer much more useful to me.
The tech got back to my promptly with an email and call.
The tech kept me up-to-date on progress via email.
They problem was relatively simple: replace power supply.
Aside from the mail-time to get the power supply, the turnover was about three days. They said they usually have longer wait, so I probably got a little lucky.
The tech was flexible when I suggested purchasing a psu on my own-- I liked that. He answered questions about +/- of going with the one he selected, and did not appear to and quot;gaugeand quot; me on the price of the part. I appreciate he recommended a slighly bigger supply in case I later wanted to add components-- good thinking.
So overall, I'd recommend these guys. Thorough, professional.
Note: Unlike many others competitors there is a non-refundable diagnosis fee, that gets counted into the costs if you go forward. I didn't find this fee unfair, but be sure you will need services before using this company.
"Thank you for taking the time to review me on Angie's List. In regards to the $65 diagnostic fee: That was instituted because many machines would be abandoned after we spent the time to find out what was wrong with them. This allows people to abandon their machine if they choose not to get it fixed, and covers our cost for time and recycling fees. There is no separate item for diagnostic, which is why the monies paid at the time of drop-off are applied to the final bill. So you are never paying for a diagnostic if we do any type of repair to the machine."
"I'm sorry you were not able to reach us. Do you happen to recall which number you were calling? There are some phone books which were using "tracking" numbers that are likely not in use anymore. Our primary phone number is 520-304-8300. Mike Swanson"
