Dr Metzger and his staff are amazing! The best pet care possible. Wonderful and caring. Definitely recommended to anyone that wants quality care for their pet

The vet is great. They were extremely friendly and forthcoming with information. I like the fact that they're kinda fill in more automated, so I can even go and then make an appointment online now without having to call.

I have been taking my dogs and cat to Animal Health Hospital for approximately 9 months. One of my dogs is elderly and has a chronic health problem.
The facility is spotless. The entire staff is friendly, welcoming, very knowledgeable and clearly dedicated to providing the best care for the animals they treat and their humans.
I gladly drive 45 minutes to this facility because of the quality of care they provide. Like many pet owners, I consider my dogs and cat to be members of my family. The staff at Animal Health Hospital never minimize my concerns....which is one of the reasons that I left the Veterinary clinic I had been going to for many years. Rather, they understand my worries and unfailingly take the time to address them; in fact, the doctors and staff go above and beyond to help me and my pets. I feel very fortunate to have found Animal Health Hospital. They also have very good coffee!

It went perfectly, as always. We dropped them off at 7:30 am and since I am so attached to these two, I was crying like a baby because I didn't want them to think I was abandoning them (we adopted them from a shelter in 2006 after they were left there at age 3). Dr. Kipp Metzger was there when we dropped them off and saw how upset I was. He assured me and my husband that the best available care awaited them. I already knew this, but it was nice to hear.

I got a phone call about 1 1/2 hours later. Dr. Kipp himself called me to tell me that my first precious boy was awake and doing very well. He gave me the details of the procedure and told me that he would be in touch when my other boy woke up. He called a little over an hour later and we discussed the second procedure and he told me that I could come get my boys at 2pm and he would set aside some time for us to discuss everything in more detail.
When I arrived, Dr. Kipp and I discussed everything (blood work and we went over digital x-rays) and he mentioned that my Siamese needed additional dental care and was very patient with my questions. He encouraged me to call if I needed anything and told me exactly what to expect as far as their behavior, and told me what was and was not normal after anesthesia. I always feel very comfortable leaving my boys with him and his team. My cats have been patients at Animal Health Hospital for about 6 1/2 years now, and we have NEVER had a bad experience, nothing even minor. Every visit has gone perfectly and we always feel welcome when we arrive and comforted when we leave knowing we got the best care available for our boys. Every person that works there cares about pets and their parents.
I gave an A for price when others didn't because I know Animal Health Hospital has blood labs and digital x-ray equipment (among other things) on site, unlike many other vet clinics. This makes it possible to get results immediately, which can save their precious lives.

Dr. Metzger continues to monitor the health of each of our dogs as needed.

My dog had lymphoma and had come to the end of her time, the cancer was hurting her, so I set up a time at the end of the day to bring her in to put her to sleep. They had been treating this dog most of her life (she was 10) and had been great with her. She did not like strangers at all, but they took the time to find out the best way to treat her. We had been to another vet and they scared her and told me she was a dangerous dog and made me feel like a horrible and irresponsible owner, so I left them and got referred to Dr. Metzger. He noticed that the dog was compliant as long as she was with me, so we always muzzled her to be safe and he did everything to her in the exam room with me sitting next to her. He would sit on the floor with us and do what was needed, including drawing blood and aspirating lumps. I am forever grateful to him and his staff. They never made me feel like I was a bad owner or that the dog was a horrible dog, they treated us with respect and kindness and love. So when it was time to end her life, they gave us a big room (there were 4 of us) and rugs and sedated the dog so we could leave her muzzle off and hug her. They let us set the timing of it, got the payment out of the way so we could just leave when we were done, and came in and gave her the injection when we were ready, and let us stay for a while. It could not have gone better, when you have to do something as sad as this was. I have another dog that I take to them, and I am in processing of getting a puppy which I will bring to them also. They are expensive, but they have equipment that lets them do their own bloodwork and x-rays and other things, which helps save time when your pet is sick. I think the preventive care my dogs receive here helps prevent more costly trips to the emergency room, so I think it is worth it. I had a dog die before I came to this vet because she got sick and they had to send the blood work out and wait a couple days for the results, and after you do that twice a lot of time has gone by and the dog gets sicker. We ended up in the E.R. with that dog and they did what they could but she was so far gone she died anyway. A well equipped animal hospital will help get a much faster diagnosis.

Terrible. I would Not recomend them to anyone.

The doctor really gave me one on one care. He listened to my concerns about my dog's eating habits and recommended a specialty food for him. They do offer boarding but I haven't needed that service. They even gave my dog a treat for being well behaved during the appointment.
