AFFORDABLE TREE SVC

. . . the project manager, Dan,
left 2 x 2 ft. oil deposits and another large reddish stain on the
street where his chipper was parked while working at the property
next door to my house. This is against city code in Tucson. When I
called and spoke with Dan he initially said he would "check it
out" by a designated date, but nothing was done to clean them
up. Next, I reported the deposits to the city's storm water
department. The inspector came out, applied enzymes to break down
the pollutants, and called Affordable Tree Service to educate
the project manager about the illegality and harm to ground water and
give him some easy ways to prevent the deposits in the future. The
inspector told me a week later that he had not received any return
call from multiple messages left with the manager. No one from
Affordable Tree Service returned my subsequent calls, either.
I hope that Affordable Tree Service will reconsider its care for our
environment, both chemically and visually, in the future.

Ralph came out and quoted us 450 dollars for to trim a huge mesquite tree in our front yard. My husband was hesitant about the price so Ralph offered a deal of 500 to trim the tree as well as trim the oleanders in the backyard and remove a small dead tree. Halfway through the work on the front, Ralph said that the job on the tree was more than he expected so he would need 500 for the front that day but would still come back and do the back at a later date for 50 dollars. We figured that would be fine as it would only be 50 more than expected and we could understand the mesquite being a big job. When we called Ralph to schedule coming out to do the backyard, he was extremely rude. He stated that he never would have made that deal, that my husband and I were very misunderstood, and flat out refused to do any of the work before hanging up. I can only assume he was having a terrible day because treating a customer like that is inexcusable in my mind. We will definitely not be using them again.

They missed the first scheduled time due to a problem with the job before us, but they came the next day, on time, and finished in about an hour. They cleaned everything up, including some stuff we had pulled away from the pepper before they arrived. The pepper looks as good as can be hoped for, the mesquite is beautiful and symmetrical, and the eucalyptus looks like it should start growing straight again. They explained what they did and every worker was pleasant and professional.

We were extremely pleased with their service, including prior to and leading up to the work. We had recently moved into this home and it was obvious these trees had been neglected. We were hesitant to remove the Cyprus but it appeared to be dying. Dan "the estimator" came out and evaluated all the trees and was very prompt in returning my calls in reference to his estimate. He obviously is very knowledgeable about plants and trees and took the time to explain the pros and cons of removing the items we did. I explained my concerns about the stumps and he thoroughly explained how they would take care of it. Gilbert and his crew showed up exactly on time and we were amazed at how efficient they were in removing the trees , grinding the stumps below ground level and cleaning up after the job. We had another bid from a different company that did not even address what we had requested for the estimate. Affordable Tree was right on track.

THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME WE USED THE COMPANY. THE MAN WE NORMALLY USE WAS SICK. WE ARE VERY IMPRESSED. OUR PALO VERDE TREE LOOKS VERY GOOD. WE HAVE MADE THE DECISION THAT WE ARE GOING TO CONTINUE USING THE COMPANY.
