Action Yard and Tree Service

Contacted for a quote based on positive reviews, but our experience has been terrible. After one employee came out and gave us a quote, he said the office would contact us to schedule the service. We waited 2-3 days, and when no one called or contacted us, we should have moved on. Instead, I called them again and scheduled the service. The workers didn't show up. When I called, I was told their stump grinder had broken down and they were waiting on parts and would reschedule. The next day, two workers showed up (unexpectedly) and said they could do half the job - cutting and hauling off the oleanders, but they would come back to finish when the stump grinder was repaired. We (foolishly) paid them the full amount. Over a week later, we still had heard nothing about finishing the job. So we called again, and were told they needed to rent a stump grinder and were backed up, but would get to us in three days. The scheduled service day came and went and SURPRISE, another no-call, no-show. We called again the next day and went straight to voicemail. I *hate* leaving bad reviews, but when a business has your money and isn't returning your calls, you're kind of out of options. At this point, it'd be faster to rent a stump grinder ourselves.

I paid Action Yard and Tree service $2500 in cash to restore my yard, remove the weeds and grass that was growing outside the perimeter of the lawn. Joe Mills the owner stated on 4 separate occasions that it would be a progressive restoration. He attempted to charge me more for work I had already paid for but wasn’t completed. Joe will respond by saying that he gave me free work. He attempts to charge $250 a visit for two man hours. He will say that I even tipped his workers saying that they had done an “outstanding job”. Yes I did tip his workers $50 each for 4.5 hours of work because the were hard workers they were polite and kind. Additionally Joe Mills does not pay a living wage! Through Action Yard and tree services own admission (see photos) Joe came out to my home and was not happy with the lawn and said he was ordering sod to install the next week . Never Happened! I am not proud to reveal this but I did take action to small claims court and I prevailed he had to return my court costs and part of the $$ I had paid.

They came out and started the job, took the $1,000 upfront started work and asked for another $2,000, which I gave to them. Now they are unresponsive, we are finding more and more things undone including not check our sprinkler irrigation system, not removing a tree they were supposed to do, trimming isn't done, didn't spray for weeds, etc. We have tried reaching them multiple times and have not had any luck.
