I called AC Smart in the morning and was told that they could have an estimator out that same day. Brandon arrived and quoted me a price and I went to their office/whse to look at what AC units that they had in stock. There were several different manufactured units to choose from. At their office I met with General Manager Brett Seaman. He showed me what they had and how they recondition the units that they have in stock. I was really torn as to what to do. Repair/ Recondition/ New. I had explained to Brett what had transpired with my existing AC unit. He suggested that he come to the house to and quot;see what might be neededand quot;. I explained that I was leaning toward the purchase of a new unit BUT he still thought that he should and quot;come seeand quot; !! Brett arrived right on time and quickly got to the source of the problem. He determined that the compressor WAS NOT the problem BUT that the capacitor was not working and needed to be replaced. Once he replaced the capacitor the AC unit was running and cooling again. The compressor was in fact still working as it should.
. Though AC Smart/Brett could have made far more money by trying to sell me a new unit ( which I was leaning toward ) I am good to go with a much smaller cost and my AC is back on faster than It would have been.I am still of the mind that I will buy a new unit soon. You can bet that I will be buying it from AC Smart.. Fair, Fast and SMART.
