I had a long list of things that needed to be fixed on my two garage doors and put off getting someone out because of potential time and cost. When I finally called Able, I was pleasantly surprised to see how quickly Tim figured out what I needed and got everything fixed, and even more pleasantly surprised by how reasonable (shh don't tell him) the bill was. I will definitely use again for all garage door needs.

     Tim showed up early for our scheduled appointment and did a visual inspection of our 2 older (1986) garage doors that we thought would have to be replaced. Tim gave me a very nice surprise when he said that the doors were fine just needed a little maintenance and the new openers. He made recommendations for spring tension wires for safety but at no time gave a high pressure sales pitch, he totally let it be my decision what work I wanted to be performed. Tim came back the next day with all the necessary parts and removed the 2 non working garage door openers and installed the 2 new ones in their place. He also installed a remote pad for each opener that has a vacation setting on it.  When the entire job was completed Tim took the time to explain the warranty, how everything works and recommended maintenance. 
     We had priced out new garage door openers and doors at Home Depot because we thought the doors would need to be replaced along with the openers. Not only did Tim save the doors but his prices and professionalism far exceeded the competition. I would highly recommend Tim and Able Garage Door Service LLC to anyone especially if you have older garage doors, Tim was great!

Tim is the best!  He was able to come by the day after we spoke to assess the damage, and he was able to fix the door right on the spot.  He's great - professional, courteous, personable, and provides great advice regarding door operation and condition of the working parts.  I wouldn't call anyone else.

This is the second time we have used Able Garage Door and we had an excellent experience just like the first time. Tim had previously repaired our 1987 vintage double-wide metal garage door, after it broke down 2-3 years ago. We thought then it would surely need to be replaced: it was old, sagged badly in the middle and was inoperable! Tim, a shining exemplar of integrity, honesty, professionalism & fairness, informed us it did not have to be replaced! Instead, all he needed to do to restore it to operability was add a metal support strut for a fraction of the cost of a new door... This time, we needed him to fix a broken garage door spring. Tim, who is also an excellent teacher, took the time to describe the nature & scope of the problem and the general nature of mechanical systems like automatic garage doors with moving parts to have inherent stresses & wear that eventually cause parts to break despite good preventive maintenance. He communicated clearly & worked efficiently to install 2 new springs, then to comprehensively inspect, tune and lubricate the door and door opening system. He reassured us our old garage door still has some useful life and said the strut he installed is still doing it's job! We originally chose Able because they were a local Tucson firm -- in general, we prefer supporting local firms with our business over the Phoenix - Scottsdale mega-firms who extend their businesses to cover Pima County. And we chose them because Able had consistently gotten rave reviews on Angie's List and still does! Cost of 2015 job = about $200.

He came out promptly, fixed the problem and didn't charge me an arm and a leg.  I plan on using him if I need garage door work in the future.  Have already recommended him to a friend.  He came to her house before she went to work to accommodate her 
schedule!

Once I had the garage framed, Mr. Hale returned and installed the garage door.   It is beautiful and it added great value to may home.  It has worked great for the last four years.  I would have given Able Garage Door and A+ had Angie's list had that as an option in the grading scale.  I have recommended Able Garage Door to many people over the last four years.  Everyone has given me excellent feedback.  If all the business owners had the integrity Mr. Hale possesses the word complaint would not exist in our language.

He was just fantastic and everything was really professionally done.  He showed up on time and went over my options with me.  He showed me how to program my car for my door and cleaned up everything.  He also told me the only thing left that could go wrong is the spring and if that were to go wrong, do this, don’t do this other thing because it would damage the motor.  That happened about six months later and he told me over the phone how to get the door down and then he showed up the next morning and replaced that part.  His price was also good for the quality.

.Prompt and courteous service.  Returned once to address issue with noise.
Garage door makes cracking noise when going up.  I was told that paint not totally dry because of humidity.
I painted door the weekend after installation.  The humidity continues and the door still makes noise.  I would contact door manufacturer but warranty states that door is not covered if painted.  Since HOA requires garage doors to be the same color of the house I didn't have a choice.  I doubt the noise still comes from the paint.

We were able to get an appt. the next day (Tues.)at 9:00 a.m.  while a couple others we called could not come out until end of week unless we wanted to pay an additional fee for "emergency" service.

My garage door had not been serviced for several years and I wanted a tune-up done. In addition, I was concerned about the chain slapping back and forth and making noise when the door was raised...I was afraid I might have a bigger issue than just a tune-up. Tim came out as scheduled. He pointed out the problem with the chain...basically, it was acting the way it was because its point of contact above the box had not been lubricated in quite some time. He then explained the garage door mechanism/system and showed me what parts should be lubricated on a yearly basis. Tim was wonderful...I would use him again!

Over Easter weekend, we found our 16 foot garage door suddenly wouldn?t close.  As it went down, it would buckle and drop, putting more tension on the motor and causing it to reverse. We called several companies on Angie?s List with good ratings and, Tim, of Able Garage Door Service was the only company to call back over the weekend.  He quickly set up an appointment to come to the house Monday morning to investigate and, hopefully, to fix the door.
He arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the problem?a cracked panel.  We had feared it might be time to replace the  door at a $900 to $1,500 cost, after all it is the house's original garage door so it is 27 years old.  He reassured us that he could repair it.  He had the proper part on his truck?a 16 foot metal strut, which would keep the door from buckling and dropping at the site of the crack.  He quickly did the repair, adjusted the springs, inspected and lubricated the rollers and tested everything to make sure all worked well.
He was generous with his time and took time to point out that two other panels in this door have cracks and he gave us useful information about what we might expect in the future with this old door, which is nearing the end of its functional life.  He took the time to explain that garage door springs will, sooner or later, break and he showed us how to open the door after a break, so we can get our vehicles out until a repair can be done.  He asked if there was anything else he could do before leaving and it occurred to one of us that we had not been able to successfully program the garage door button built into our Lexus SUV when we bought the house 2 1/2 years ago.  He kindly offered to program it for us and quickly did so.
 Over all, we were very pleased with his responsiveness, availability, punctuality, professionalism, skill, expertise, quality of customer service and surprisingly low charges for the repairs, with inspection and door servicing.
