Went well, very professional and friendly from first phone contact to last completion of repairs. Very good experience.

We have used a lot of plumbers for various issues in the past 5 years, but Abacus Plumbing, and especially our plumber Kenny B., was exceptionally attentive to making sure that everything was installed correctly and to our satisfaction.  We were kept well informed throughout the installation of our water heater and we also had a full inspection where other valid issues were identified. I liked that we agreed to prices before work began and that they listened to our concerns. We will continue to use Abacus and we recommend them highly. 

The provider installed a new faucet in the kitchen, which was challenging due to the deep sink that was installed by the former owner of my home. I also expressed concern about a leaky faucet in my master bathroom. He quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. I didn't realize that I just had to screw the faucet handle tighter; I thought it would be more complicated. He didn't make me feel foolish.

The service was 100 percent better than service we received from another company.  Initially we called Abacus for emergency service and they came out and performed the service.  Antoine the service technician made a big impression with his knowledge and professional attitude.  He took care of the problem.  He went out of his way to make certain we understood everything and the price was reasonable.  They support the military and provide military discount.

Very professional installation and customer service. 

I have a gas water heater in the attic. It has started shutting down completely, including pilot light, recently. After I light the pilot light, the heater will come on for about 5 to 10 minutes, and shut down again. I work for a construction company so some of my coworkers are pretty handy people. In casual conversations at work, several of them suggested a bad thermocouple may very likely to be the cause.

I called service from ABACUS anyways as I want to seek formal expert opinion. The provider responded fast and service man came on time. His demeanor is professional. After observing my water heater for about 10 minutes, he diagnosed that either he needs to replace the entire control valve ($12,000) or the entire water heater ($25,000). I asked is there is probable cause it is a bad thermocouple, he refused to consider the probability claiming his experience is it is not. I asked him whether he can replace the thermocouple for me anyways, just to see if it works first. If not, we can go for more expensive solutions. he REFUSED to do so, saying he neither have the skill nor have the equipment to replace the thermocouple. I sent him away, paid the 60 dollar service fee because after all, he came out.

Later I called another company, the technician almost immediately said it's a thermocouple issue, replaced it, and now the heater is working fine. It costed me a bit less than 100 dollars and about half an hour.

They come out when I called them and they fix the problem that I ask them to fix. I always follow them around and ask lots of questions and they're always willing to answer my questions.

They came out on a weekend and replaced some plumbing to my shower. They were on time, cleaned up everything and the price was lower than expected.

Their people seemed okay. I would not recommend them though. We called them up on a weekend and they said they could come by on a Monday. They gave a quick estimate over the phone for around $1800 and then when they came out they said it would cost closer to $2800. We decided to look for another plumber because of the prices that they quoted. We ended up getting another estimate that was far less so we went with the other plumber. We did have them come out and hook up a temporary line. When I returned the hose I got an uncomfortable vibe from. It seemed like they were annoyed we went with some else for the job.. I felt like they were very competent and the workers were very polite during the estimate, but their customer service was very poor. We will not be using them in the future.

Bob came out to give me an estimate to repipe my whole house to replace existing polybutylene pipes. He was very nice and knowledgeable. His estimate was about $2,000 more than my lowest estimate and his did not include the drywall repairs. He said that he couldn't get his price anywhere near my lowest estimate because he uses high quality material which included brass fitting, rings, and angle stops. I did not hire this company because the estimate was thousands more than the one I chose, which I found on Angie's List.

We were very pleased with their service. Two separate plumbers came out in the three different visits and both of them were professional, on time, pleasant, and it seemed like they took a lot of pride in doing the job right.

They have always done good work for me; I would give them an "A".

Their total work was about half a day. They were very professional and knowledgeable. They had everything that needed right in. They didn't have to leave and go to get anything. They had all the tools and equipments that they needed. They were very friendly as well. If I had any questions of what was going on they answered it and they showed me what the problem was before they did anything. They also worked with the insurance company so everything was on them including the final bill. In fact I had two other companies who came to look at the problem and couldn't fix it but they were recommending Abacus. They knew what I needed and this company knew it all.

They showed up on time and finished the work efficiently. After the work was done, you could hardly tell where the hole in the front yard had been.

The entire job went very well and smoothly. The plumber was very competent and professional, and kept working at an efficient and steady pace even while chatting (which is especially important because they charge by the time the job takes). At every stage he asked us what kind of materials we wanted (we opted for copper pipe instead of plastic, and a concrete meter box instead of plastic), so we could decide on more budget versus more quality materials. We have used this company a number of times before and have always been pleased with the high level of work, plus we like the hourly rate versus a set price, which makes us feel like they are taking the time needed to do the job right and not cutting ends to save themselves time.
