Horrible. Not a good company.

When the crew arrived I told them it just need trimming and a clean up and that the tree shaded the front of the house. When I saw it after the "pruning," I almost cried (see photos). The tree was over pruned, had bad cuts (looks like they cut half way through and then broke the rest), they topped the tree, they ruined the structure of the tree, and they left only a few branches with green on them. Two weeks later, the green branches were dead. I asked the owner, Eric, to come out and tell me what to do about the branches. The first words out of his mouth were "this looks bad. It's not my fault." Before that, I wasn't assigning blame. I just need information. I assumed, wrongly, that he was a certified arborist and that his crew was knowledgeable. Now my tree has little chance of recovery and may have to be removed. The fact that the owner is not taking responsibility for the damage is troubling. I have since had two CERTIFIED arborists come out and tell me the same thing. That the tree crew pretty much killed my tree. We will be contacting the company again to replace the tree. I will amend this review when they have completed the replacement. Until then, I would try another service. Heartwood tree care is a good place to start.

They cut down the tree and the salesman was even here at my request. I told him I was getting roots in the backyard from a previous tree service. I didn't realize when they grind the stump, there are suppose to put a root killer in there, and he didn't do that. So now I have roots coming up all over from the sister tree I had cut down. I will never have them out here again. I understood from another tree service that it will take years and every time the ground gets hot, those roots will shoot up again. I didn't know at the time that they needed to do that. I feel like he took advantage of me. Now every time I go out I see those roots shooting up, and I have to get out my spade and do it myself. 
They did a good job with the tree in the back.

They came quickly gave a good price and did an excellent jpb.

With the exception of the trees which happened very quickly, getting started on the landscaping took some time. Perhaps there were conflicts with other jobs. I don't know. All said and done, relatively happy.

Very satisfied, extremely so. They did a fantastic job removing it and cleaning up the debris. You cannot even tell there was a tree there before. I was shocked at the price because they had 3 men working here for 4 hours. The price was fantastic. They even did some cleaning on the side of the house that had nothing to do with the tree removal. I would recommend them to anyone at anytime.

Ultimate Tree was referred to me by a friend who has been using them for 10 years. I called and left a message last week and played a little phone tag with Mike (team supervisor) before being able to make an appt for Thurs between 1-4 for a quote. I had asked that I be called when they were on their way over but that did not happen.
Eric, the owner showed around 3:30-4:00. We walked our property and talked about what we wanted/needed done. He was very knowledgeable about trees and gave us ideas on how to water the high water usage trees we inherited when we purchased the house and what ws going on with our mulberry's.
After writing notes down on all the trees we wanted touched and getting the quote he asked when we wanted to have the work done. That might seem pushy to others but since I knew what our budget was and it was within $75 of that number and we really needed the work done, I asked when he could do it. Surprisingly the very next day in the afternoon (no exact time given). Right now I am pretty open with my schedule so the lack of exact time didn't bother me. I arrived just after the 5 man crew had shown at 1:30. They were already getting themselves prepared.
Mike was the crew lead and asked that we go over what was to be done to make sure we were on the same page - this I appreciated. Before we had finished the guys were already working on removing the mesquite and getting set up to start on the Ash and mulberry.
In the backyard I had some small potted plants that I asked if they needed to be moved (near the mulberry that was having alot taken off) Mike said no and that they would be careful of them. One of the plants did take a dive - I wasn't angry but I wasn't surprised - The branches coming off the tree were massive and the plant is a hardy one. He helped me move the plants out of the way so no more would be hit - I should have done this in the first place.
They did a GREAT job cleaning up after themselves and it looked like noone had been here pruning trees. To me a great prune job is one you can't even tell happened. They were here and gone in an HOUR. Very hard working, efficient crew.
I would recommend them and I will use them in the future as I know one of the mulberry trees is on its last leg. Had it been in the budget it would have happened this time.
As an aside I did contact another tree company located on Deer Valley (not from Angie's List) and asked for a general quote over the phone, the price was $200-$225 per tree, much more than what we paid.

The following day they were out and removing the trees. They also removed two additional stumps that a previous company had cut the trees down but left the stumps. Watching the work being done I thought for sure I'd have a mess to clean up due to all the small pieces of branches, leaves, and ground trunk. I couldn't have been more wrong. When they were done there wasn't a trace they had even been here. They were polite, thorough, and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again and to recommend them. EXCELLENT JOB!

We weren't even home and they took down the tree and ground the stump, covered it so it looked like a tree was never there. Yard was cleaned up of all debris. Yard looked great!

Good job, good service, good price

After a violent storm my trees were a mess. These guys came out quick and provided me with a reasonable quote. They were on time and boy did they work hard. I couldn't believe how fast and hard they worked. They did a great job cleaning up my trees and lighting the load for the future monsoons. These guys are top notch and will go with them in the future.

This was a wonderful experience! I live in the house I grew up in since our family moved here in 1963. No one but my family has ever lived in this house and the mulberry tree ... the only remaining mulberry tree in our neighborhood ... was planted by my father the spring of 1964. The pine tree in the back was originally a small Christmas tree planted in 1974. I'm emotionally attached to these trees and was reluctant to have them cut in fear of damage, or worse. Well, all my fears were unnecessary, because Ultimate Tree Service went beyond any expectations I had going in. The trimmers were friendly, listened to my concerns, did exactly what I hoped they would and made sure that I was satisfied with the work and didn't stop until every limb was exactly as I wanted. The mulberry tree looks gorgeous and the pine tree looks better than it has in years. After trimming the trees, they cleaned up my front and back yards so there was nothing for me to do later. To top off the fantastic service, the price they charged me was VERY reasonable. The owner, Eric, was wonderful to deal with, as was his son, Mike. I would recommend this company in a heartbeat and will use them again without hesitation. In this day and age when service is mediocre at best and few take real pride in their work, Ultimate Tree Service proves that quality customer service and true professionals still exists. You won't go wrong by hiring this company!

I was really impressed by these people. When I called for an estimate, my call was answered right away, and Mike came out the very next business day. I was surprised by the estimate (I was afraid it would be much higher), and then I was surprised again when he said it would take about an hour to do the work. Sure enough, 5 men showed up, on time, and in less than an hour, took down a large mesquite, cleaned up, covered the stump with gravel, and even skimmed the few twigs that had landed in the pool. I would never have believed that that many people could work together so smoothly and efficiently on a job like this. I had been ambivalent about taking the tree out, but watching these guys work kind of distracted me from my doubts. I'll absolutely use them again for any tree issues.

Workers and owner were on the job as promised.

I had an estimator come out and give me a quote. I agreed on the price, and told them I wanted them out on a specific date in the future, which he said wasn't a problem because they were wide open. I told them 9 AM worked good for me, and he set a window of 9-12. When the day arrived, they showed up at 12. I was pretty upset and let them know that I expected them there at 9 AM. He said he had to attend to some sick friend and that's why they were late.
The work they did was very good. They cut all of the dead wood off of the trees and thinned out the inside of the trees as I had requested. There was a lot of debris and they took it all away. They cleaned up all of the leaves that had dropped and left the yard as clean as it was when they arrived. I would hire them again.

They scheduled the estimate and performance of the job in a timely manner and once the job was finished they did a thorough job of cleaning up the debris. I will continue to use this company in the future and definitely recommend their services.

I asked them to cut my tree back and also some trees in my back yard, and they didn't do a very good job. We have a big tree in our front yard, and it was overgrown, and hiding the street sign, and that kind of stuff. It was also growing over the roof, and so it need to be trimmed back quite a bit. I also had 3 smaller trees in the back yard that were all over grown also, and I needed them to be scaled back. I had not used them before, but when my husband was alive, he had used them, and that is why I called them. I got another tree trimmer who was recommended by a friend, and he did a fabulous job. He did such a good job that I haven't had to have anybody out yet to look at them. I think it was common sense that the tree had to be trimmed back more than what they did, because the limbs were still hanging over the street sign. One of the things that I had told them, was that the home owners association was going to fine me if I didn't get that trimmed back. The price was very reasonable, and they responded quickly. They were here on time.

Eric gave me an estimate on Monday morning and sent a crew of 7 out on Friday morning. They showed up on time, were very professional, and had all work completed in a little over an hour. The clean-up, as promised, was thorough and you'd never know there had been a tree in any of the locations.

Very, very well. Tried to call another company that gave my son a bid a year ago. Called 3 times and never heard back. Joined the Tempe area Angie's List and found 3 providers within 5 miles. The Ultimate Tree Service (Eric) responded and gave us a bid. Eric was very professional and since the property has a solid wall we needed to make sure that the grinder would be lifted over the wall vs coming through the house.
Eric indicated that they could come the next morning with a 5 man crew and he was true to his word. They also lifted the grinder over the wall with great care and before they left they cleaned the entire back yard of leaves and other debris. A very nice touch.
We would definitely use him again.

Very good, quick, they do all the cleanup.
