Everything went about as planned and once the actual installation was started, it was performed quickly and efficiently. The steel and faux-wood gates are attractive, well made and should last a long time.

Very smooth and professional. Rep came out, took measurements and reviewed options, including pictures. The rep clearly understood what was involved. He listened to our needs and provided options and prices. Worked up a quote real-time. We ordered the gate and an estimated time to deliver. The gate was ready about a week early, and after coordinating an install time, installation techs showed up and very efficiently removed the old gate and installed the new one. We are very happy with the entire process and definitely recommend Sunset Gates.

Basically, we needed a new gate since we were working on our yard and fences. My father had heard from his friend about Sunset gates and decided to give them a shot. I was worried that this project would require me to take time off of work in order to get an estimate and for the installation. But Sunset Gates came out to my house while I was at work and measured the gate and immediately sent me an email with a quote for my review. Their website has pictures of all of the gate options and I was able to work back and forth through email to finalize the type of gate and options I wanted. The installation was done while I was at work as well. I was very nervous about how things would turn out without ever truly being face to face with anyone at Sunset Gates but I could not be more pleased. The quality of the gate is wonderful and the installation was done well. The people I spoke to on the phone were very friendly and professional. I recommend this company not only because of the quality of their work and their professionalism but also because they can be trusted to provide a quality product and installation even if you never meet them face to face.

Shawn, Sunset Gates' owner/operator, came to the house, took measurements and gave us a price. He clearly explained materials, pricing and how the gates are built. The purchase and installation went really well. We chose a Traditional Series gate, which looked very nice after it was installed and even better after I stained the cedar slats. Was tempted to go with the composite slats, which don't need staining or painting, but I like the look of real wood. Fyi: We opted for a self-closing spring, which works great. Bottom line: This iron-and-wood gate is sooo much better than our old gate, which was made of 2-by-4s and wood slats!

They did a good job -- very professional and gave us a discount for using Angie's List. They had to put up a pillar to support the gate. When they built the pillar, it seemed off line -- I understood why -- our property line is diagonal and it lined up with that. The owner came out to check on progress and, on his own, saw what I saw. He had them knock down and rebuild the pillar to make it line up better, at no extra charge to us. He took money out of his own pocket to make things right.

The wall held part of my RV gate and it was preventing my gate from closing properly. Their responsiveness and quality were amazing. They fixed everything quickly.

Sunset Gates was one of three companies that came out to give us a quote on a new RV gate.  Their prices were competitive, but it was Shawn's thorough explanation of what would be best for us that made us go with them.  Communication was seamless, and the work was completed on time, and it looks better than I could have imagined.  We were so impressed that we ended up using Sunset Fence to build a back wall on our property with a gate to match our Rv gate.  Highly reccomended!

Shawn drove out to provide the initial estimate.  He was very professional, and took the time to ask lots of questions that we didn't think to ask, such as, do you want the gate to swing in or out, and would you like the latch mechanism to face the street, or the backyard?  In summary, very professional.  A 50% deposit was provided to get the process going.
 Shawn's estimated installation date was twenty days or so.  They were able to beat that by at least 10 days.  Another professional sign:  Set expectations, then exceed them.  Very nice.
All of the above would be worth zilch of course if the gate sucked.  It did not.  Very nice materials, much better than the original gate provided by the home builder.  The installer was quick and very professional.  He took the time to explain how to adjust the spring if we ever needed to.  He also removed all construction materials and remnants from the old gate.  The entire process took about one hour.
My choice of "B" for price is only because I did not get any other estimates, thus had no reference point other than what seemed a fair price to me.  I have to admit that I've fallen into a process of relying on Angie's List to essentially do this sort of research for me.  Sunset Gates was already highly rated on Angie's List, so I went for it.

Everything went extremely smoothly. You do want to measure the gate space so you can have a estimated price before you call Shawn. Also, they have a variety of gates online to choose from and different levels. The communication and service was excellent. We will use them again.

I was very impressed with Sunset Gates and would highly recommend them. In fact, I have already given a couple of my neighbors their business card! My courtyard gate is beautiful and Shawn, the owner, worked with me to customize it so that it is not only decorative but safe for my dogs. The gate was ready ahead of schedule and the install was quick, efficient and perfectly done. I thought the value was also very good for my gate.
