The problem turned out to be a sync glitch between Firefox and iCloud. The problem had been reported a number of times last year by other Firefox users, which Plexus discovered through detailed research. The problem was not obvious and was somewhat camouflaged in my computer.Once discovered, a solution was crafted that solved the problem. And it speeded up my computer considerably!
Plexus is a fine example of a small American business that works its tail off to deliver value over and above what its clients expect. I am a client for life.

Unlike a couple other computer repair services on the list, Plexus answered my call, rather than giving me a voicemail, and immediately understood the problem and offered a solution at what seemed a reasonable price. Chris, the fellow who took my call, was in the middle of two other jobs and said he'd call back later at a certain time, and he did just that. He led me through the steps for his getting access to my laptop in a professional, competent, friendly manner and went to work. Later Cory took over the work since Chris had to get home to his family and did all efficiently and in a friendly manner. Both men struck me as being expert and especially patient and helpful in a situation that was, as often, terribly frustrating. I see some of the reviews here are less than superb, which likely has less to do with the company and more to do with the client. I should add that a few years ago I was having a weird problem while working in Word documents, and Cory decided that all I likely needed to fix the problem was a new mouse, which did indeed take care of the trouble. He offered the help to me over the phone free of charge, though he could well have come out to my place and charged me for the service call and time. That impressed me very favorably. I highly recommend this company.

It turned out that it wasn't my PC at all, instead it was my wireless key board & mouse. He cleaned them up, put  in new batteries and installed a new PC security system which I had previously asked for.  And here's the BEST part of all of it:  He dropped the estimated charge from $100. down to $65.  He could have charged me the whole estimated charge of $100 and I would have happily paid it!  Instead he told me that it had been something so minor that he didn't feel right charging me the $100 charge. 
I would happily refer any one with PC problems to Cory @ PLEXUS Technology Solutions, LLC  He seemed to be very honest & knowledgeable.

Corey was wonderful to work with!   I called mid-afternoon on a Friday because a keyboard was frozen on one of our computers and would not allow us to type anything even though the cursor was flashing on the screen.  I had tried everything I could think of to fix it but to no avail.  We also needed a new wireless router because ours had been freezing up.  When I called, I expected that we would probably not be able to get an appointment until the following week, but  Corey said that he could come out right away.  When I explained that I had not purchased the wireless router yet and could not go get one because I was waiting for a phone call that I could not miss, he offered to stop and buy one for us and bring it with him, which he did (he charged 20% of the cost of the router to his bill to cover his time and the extra mileage).  He arrived when he said he would and  was able to quickly fix our keyboard and install the new router on both of our computers.  He then said he would check to make sure it was working on our cell phones and also our I-pad.  He fixed our fax so that is was both sending and receiving faxes and checked it to make sure.  He helped us fix an application that we were having trouble with on one of our I-phones and then asked if we would like him to add a remote support button on our computers so that if we ever needed him to fix something again that he could fix from a remote computer he could.  This feature if used will reduce the cost to us and eliminate a trip fee.  Since we have used a remote fix in the past where we used to live, we agreed.  Corey was very professional, friendly and explained everything he was doing.  We will definitely use him in the future.

My computer was getting full. I asked him how to get that out of my hard drive. He fixed it and told me I was all set. I've still been getting error messages every time I use it. I tried to have him come back, and made a date, but he never came back. I just wrote it off as a bad experience. If he had done what I wanted, I would've been happy with paying that money. He didn't keep his appointment at all. He came in claiming to know all about computers, but he didn't seem to know how to correct my problem.

"Member, your problem was about fixing your printer which I did on May 10th of last year (2010). However when you asked me to come back and help you with your hard drive I told you that I wouldn't be able to service you at your home anymore because of the condition it was in. I'm not comfortable being in your house with it so dirty and not being able to walk around. I told you that I would be more then happy to service your machine remotely. I understand that you are upset and probably embarrassed about being told the condition of your home, but I always stand by my work and do the right thing for all my clients. I don't appreciate being lied about."

Cory Gould arrived on schedule and, after I again summarized the problem, launched into those magical, rapidfire keystrokes that make my hunt-and-peck routine look about as ancient as I am [76]. The fix was relatively simple [when one knows what to do], consisting of software installation on my wife's laptop, checking my network configuration, etc. and my wife soon could print to her heart's content -- leaving me almost as pleased as she was. Joking aside, Cory was pleasant, neatly dressed, adept at explaining to me just what the problem was and how he fixed it. The net charge of $75 consisted of an hourly rate charge of $85, plus a $15 trip charge, less $25 for a first time Angie's List customer. Based on this initial experience, I will certainly use Plexus/Cory for my next in-home technology mystery. Thanks, Cory!!

Cory came to my house at the appointed time. He was courteous and professional.

He was efficient and got everything completed in about 1 1/2 hrs. He only charged me for an hour and he gave me the Angieslist discount.  He did everything I needed to get my new laptop running smoothly with all my programs.

Corey (who is Plexus) called back after several hours and advised me I could avoid a trip charge by bringing my hard drive into his office. He agreed that my hard drive was probably failing based on my description but felt 90 % confident that my data files would be recoverable. I dropped off my computer and he said it would be one day (most likely) to complete the repair.  Actually, he didn't even start until two days later because a bigger more important customer had an emergency issue. He eventually dropping the pc off at my house and hooked it up  after three days. He put up with my annoying dogs in the process.

 Unfortunately, he said, none of my files, data or software would be recoverable. He offered to help me restore my music, pictures and calendar from my iPhone remotely. I scheduled a time to get this done.  It took a couple of days to get a call back. On three separate occasions we set up times and a date to work on my data uploads. On two of the occasions he called me (well after the scheduled appointment), to again being put behind a ?more important customer?. Corey didn't contact me before our scheduled time to let me know he wouldn't be able to meet at our agreed upon time. Instead, I had to call him to let him know I was waiting and he let me know he would have to reschedule.

 After being without my contacts, calendar, music and photos for over a week, I finally decided to just do it myself. I ended up buying some software online for $30 that would take the information from my iPhone and upload it back to my PC.. I chose Corey after seeing the positive rating and reviews on Angies list. While he seems like a nice enough guy, he didn?t meet my expectations in getting my problems fixed quickly. I would have felt a lot better about the experience had he called me BEFORE the appointment time to let me know he couldn't make it instead of well after.  I would have been better off in terms of cost and sanity doing it by myself which I did eventually anyway.

My computer would not log onto the internet. I could not get beyond a phony "Security Defender" screen. I had run a malware removal program I had which showed that the malware was removed. Turned out that the program had embedded itself in other files which I could not see.  "Security Defender" did not show up on the "Add/Remove" list of software on my computer to further pile on confusion.

Cory did a great job. He was able to restore the desktop, fix the corrupt drive, and clean up the "clutter" that had accululated on the hard drive. My computer is now back to normal and even responds more quickly. Cory has a high level of expertise in repairing computers and I've benefitted from his knowledge. He has become my go-to guy when the computer goes nuts. Fast, friendly, professional. He goes the extra mile for his customers.

I made an appointment with Corey for Saturday afternoon at 1 PM, for him to do what needed to be done on a remote basis. I only knew about that possibility because my niece keeps her parents' computer going that way. Because of a slight glitch on my part, we didn't make contact until later that afternoon. However, since he was staying in his location, it didn't inconvenience him as badly as it would have had he driven to my home. He told me over the phone how to give control of my computer to him. We hung up the phone. He did his work and called me back. I gave him my credit card number. He processed it while we were on the phone together. Then he e-mailed me his receipt.

He and I talked about the value of Angie's List. Because of the reviews posted on AL, we both had confidence to work together without ever meeting face to face. It cuts down on his overhead tremendously to do the work on a remote basis. He charged me about 30% less than a house call would be. It was easier for both of us. He did say that if his changes didn't make the computer run faster and better, it is time to get a new computer. There are easy features on this computer that a more recently purchased laptop doesn't have or the application is enough different that I'm more comfortable with the old way. Yes, I know, I'm old fashioned. I was very pleased with my transaction with Corey and would recommend him to anyone.

Overall there was ups and downs. Calls not returned and cancelled appointment were disapointing. His work associated with the theater was disapointing. His work associated with the network, computers, and printers were very good and his honesty was evident. We will use him again.

After I called Cory and explained my computer problem on a Wed afternoon, Cory was able to come to the house on Friday morning. A big plus for us was not having to lug the machine down to a shop to have it worked on. He arrived within the window of time he promised, quickly assessed the situation, ran a few tests, and was able to correct several problems that was causing our computer to lose internet access. Cory found some malware that was causing a redirect issue, a corrupt file, and several unnecessary programs running in the background that were slowing things down. He cleaned up the mess on our computer, made a few adjustments to increase speed, and gave some good suggestions to maximize our computer's function. Before leaving he made sure the computer was working correctly and walked us through what he had done. What a pleasure. He charged us exactly what he quoted and even took off $25 for the Angie's discount. I thought he prices were extremely reasonable for everything he did. We can't find an old-fashioned doctor to make house calls, but  Cory was able to accommodate our hectic schedule and never seemed to be put-off by our requests. From now on, Plexus is the first call I'll make if the computer starts acting cranky. Cory is knowledgeable, honest, and offers terrific customer service at a fair price.
